LittlethorpeFox Posted 30 May 2018 Posted 30 May 2018 I am a big Wes fan and think he's our most under appreciated player of all time. But rumours of this move, i think could be good for all parties. They need a replacement for Zouma and he could get one final contract not too far from his East Mids base.
OhYesNdidi Posted 30 May 2018 Posted 30 May 2018 £6m? Hmm, he's 34 and has one year left on his contract. If true, awful business from Stoke.
STUHILL Posted 30 May 2018 Posted 30 May 2018 YES PLEASE!!! No disrespect to Big Wes but that would be a fantastic bit of business for us
Vindaloo FOX Posted 30 May 2018 Posted 30 May 2018 no chances !!! they are not that stupid are they? 6 million !!!

Tuna Posted 30 May 2018 Posted 30 May 2018 It's a difficult one, personally I'd keep Wes as 3rd / 4th choice centre half and club captain, but at his age I doubt he'll want to stick around on the bench when he can play week in week out at Stoke which would be an excellent move for him.
Buce Posted 30 May 2018 Posted 30 May 2018 £6 million? I'd be happy to see him go on a free, just to get his wages off the books.
Tuna Posted 30 May 2018 Posted 30 May 2018 Been an unbelievable player for us by the way, he may not be good enough anymore for the first team on a regular basis but lets respect him for what he's done for us. 4
Nigel Graham Pearson Posted 30 May 2018 Posted 30 May 2018 Ain’t going to happen, is it? He won’t be willing to take a wage cut, and probably won’t be willing to drop down a league either. Plus, I wouldn’t be shocked if he’s still starting next season
Katy Posted 30 May 2018 Posted 30 May 2018 I mentioned this in another thread earlier. Safe to say the Stoke fans don’t want him either ?
Grebfromgrebland Posted 30 May 2018 Posted 30 May 2018 Not until we've replacements signed up already.

He'd be an amazing Captain for a promotion push. They'd give him a two year deal with an option for a third. If they go up £6m looks absurdly cheap.
Gerard Posted 30 May 2018 Posted 30 May 2018 No media outlet is reporting, the thread is a waste of time. I don't mind even a crap link or my workmate's uncle's cousin type link but there is nothing credible here whatsoever.

LCFC news tweeted it but there’s no source attached to it, as is the norm from whoever own that account ?
Lovejoy Posted 30 May 2018 Posted 30 May 2018 The deal makes sense for all parties, I can't believe Stoke will actually pay that though.

Not saying that account is legit (I think I know the one you're on about), but if they do have any "insider info", they're not going to tell the world where it's come from are they?

No, you know what I mean though. There’s normally some sort of link from somewhere. This account has chatted shit in the past though but at least it’s pissing Stoke fans off.
Beechey Posted 30 May 2018 Posted 30 May 2018 I'll be happy for him to leave if we sign a replacement backup and a first team CB. Right now we've done neither.

Jaspa Posted 30 May 2018 Posted 30 May 2018 He's not gonna sit on the bench here lads, if we're to move on he needs to move on. All respect, loved him while he was here. Backed him in summer '15 when a load of people on here where saying 'gerrim ought, he's over hill', and then captained us to greatness, no doubt a legend.
