Ndidi has been rather disappointing in this match. Not sure if it was the best idea to bring him on already after his injury spell...

How did Nigeria score against England?

They are utterly dreadful!

Why ask a question and immediately answer it?

Musa with Bramall Lane standard crossing there lol

Because it’s only England who in no means what so ever set the the world alight ?

I disagree.

He has tidied up a lot in front of the defence.  I’ve admired his work tonight.

He isn’t the creative spark.

Let's face it, with the honourable exception of Cameroon in 1990 and Ghana in 2010, African teams have been absolute bobbins at the World Cup. Doesn't seem to matter how much they improve, European and South American teams will always be a level or two above.

Nigeria '94 and even '98, Senegal 2002 were decent too. Cote d'Ivoire have been terribly unlucky with the draw twice and were millimeters away from progressing last time. It's fine margins, but I will concede that the development of Subsaharan teams has been disappointing since the promise of the 90s

Prior to today 25% of Nigeria's games at a World Cup have ended in defeat to Argentina, can't see that changing this year...

I think I need a professional mathematician to work that out for me. :ermm:

In that area, maybe.

Other than that, he was usually a step late in midfield when Croatia attacked, lost a large number of one-on-ones, not always in position, giving away possession also.

Hey, Algeria did very well an almost knocked-off the world champs.

Played at 5 world cups before now (94, 98, 02, 10, 14) - 3 group stages each, plus round of 16 in 94. 16 games played at a world cup before tonight. Lost 2-1 to Argies group stage 94, 1-0 to them in 2002, 1-0 to them in 2010 and 3-2 to them in 2014. 4 defeats to Argentina in 16 world cup games.

Only haven't been in the same group as Argentina once in 1998

To think that the club that won the Premier League then went to go on and sign Ahmed Musa is just bewildering. What on earth was going on that summer?

I like that we can disagree respectfully without descending into impoliteness.
