The wording may not be the best but my point is, Messi's team need him to carry the creating for the team AND score. Ronaldo has the luxury of wondering about and hunting goals. Now don't get me wrong, I got Ronaldo as top 3 all-time because of his achievements and career but in this sport, he doesn't have to do as much

I think it’s a penalty for 2 reasons,

the player controlled the ball onto his arm, doesn’t matter if it was mistimed and accidental, as he headed it onto his own arm.

he prevented the Nigerian player having a chance on goal by sticking his arm in the way.

 But there again, I’m thick.

France pushed their own luck against Australia and only scraped through against Peru.

Mate. Ronaldo has dragged Portugal on his own pretty much for the last 8 years. Minimum. 

 

If it wasn't for Ronaldo basically being the greatest player to play the game they wouldn't have even qualified for the euros they won.

We've already had something similar in the game against Serbia with the Mitrovic incident, so the quota's already been used up.

 

Besides, I rate Costa Rica, did an admirable job against Brazil until very, very late into the game - but them beating us? Hmm... They have nothing left to play for and a draw will suit Switzerland just fine.

I find it hard to see it, just compare the defence and midfield of both teams, France are well ahead there Argentina don’t even have a midfield

It doesn't matter how you played in the group stages as long as you get through. Everyone starts the knockout stages with a clean slate. Germany have been shit but nobody wants them in the next round.
