The game started well but as predicted it’s descended into players throwing themselves down as if shot any time a player is near them.

 

Even the ref looks fed up with it, probably because he has no powers to book players who are clearly exaggerating the amount of contact.

I think a blatant feigning of injury should be VAR-ed and red carded.

Watched the repeat of that Managing England: The impossible job on BBC 2 before this match started ...   forgot what a load of sh1te we have had managing our team.   MON should have been given a crack, imo ...   and it’s make Southgate seem like a good shout.

As good as Godin and Gimenez have been, Caceres has been the standout defender in this game.

Uruguay are like 11 almond nuts  in this world cup. It’s going to take a special goal to crack them open. They pull every professional trick, feigning and exaggerating injuries and winning free kicks, then treading the marginal line of some nasty bad fouling without getting carded. The top half of this world cup is definitely the toughest. I’m glad England are where we are in the draw to be honest.
