We spent the Mahrez money before we got it (we added nearly £170k a week vs £100k out) - they'll need to be more outs before they're are any ins particularly if we want to keep our best players (Maguire, Ndidi, Vardy, possibly even Schmeichel). Vardy and Maguire are going to be at least another £100k a week if we want to keep them. Last years accounts weren't as profitable as they were expected with no european football vs expected 7th and it only works on last year so the CL money and record profits won't work. All points to the **** up that was the year after we won the league.

If anyone comes in soon they'll be an out lined up.

We're paying 170k a week to the new players?????

One is a second choice goalie who will hardly play.

One came from abroad

One came from the Championship

I can see that we may have to substantially increase Maguires salary to keep him, Vardy may merit an increase but realistically he isn't likely to be on the shopping list of a top 6 side.

But to claim 'at least 100k a week' seems a tad ott

Jonny Evans will be on a wedge, that low transfer fee will have been milked to high heaven by him and his agent.

How much is a wedge, he was hardly inundated with offers?

Just how much could the others ask for?

Where does Musa earning 65K a week come from?

Did we turn down an actual offer for Musa?

If we did then I can't see that the club is that worried about FFP not unless we are expecting him to be first eleven next season.

He'll be on £70k I bet? The fact we courted him for over a year and he had interest previously from Man City and Arsenal will have strengthened his hand when it came to negotiation with us. As a rough guide you could say Evans 70k, Pereira 50k, Maddison 40k and Ward 25k. That's probably Mahrez and Huth's salary combined.

Still leaves us the extra £7m but could most of that be used to improve Maguire and Ndidi's very low basic salary for their talents?

Musa's salary was published in amongst the rest yesterday off a fairly reliable link.

That would be a payrise of 68k a week each.

The accounts last submitted to the premier league (on 1st March as per their rules) would have been the last accounts we released at year end. Which were the ones we made the huge profit in. They aren't due to receive the next accounts, where we didn't make as much money until March next year. We have to provide projections, but that's all they are projections. It doesn't stop you working around issues during the season.

You can also elect to be assessed on a three yearly basis, rather than a yearly basis. If the club have done that, if gives you a far bigger window to make up any short term short falls. Plus, the huge profits made during the champions league can be weighed against for 3 seasons, rather than just one.

The club will have a budget they want to stick to and yes they will need to shift on some players to stick to it. But if things were that bad, we would not be buying reserve keepers for £12m.

To be fair, regardless of FFP it's prudent to get rid of players and wages before taking more on. We have a highly paid squad and some absolute duds on good wages. The club is still a business at the end of the day and we have to balance the books as every other business does.

But you're wrong. For Short Term Cost Control you can't be assessed three-yearly, aside from you can use profit from three-year player trading profit to pay for wages which we likely don't have.

It's done on contract years so its 7m+revenue for this coming season. The Champions League and uplift from the title win have gone, we can't use that as uplift now. This season won't be assessed until March 2020.

One of the only decent sources within the club we have left has said the money is a little low.

Shall we just believe him and move on? Rather than conduct an incredibly boring assessment of FFP and how it works?

This thread is now confusing.  Is it about Fair Play finances or a not so likely new player signing?  May be a new thread is required for Fair Play??

Vardy also expected to be offered a new deal, it ought to leave some room for another player at least though. The worry is Puel actually thinks this squad is spot on.

I'm amazed more players don't do it. Find it quite refreshing to be honest lol
