Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 10 July 2018 Posted 10 July 2018 Is he any good? Can only really go off what I saw at the world cup and I don't think that's a big enough sample size to judge a player on. 1
Nick Posted 10 July 2018 Posted 10 July 2018 Listed as a winger, attacking midfielder and a striker. Great, another square holed utility player who's not quite good enough for any of the above positions?
Mehrez Posted 10 July 2018 Posted 10 July 2018 He’s quality, scored 21 last season and assisted 12 making him top scorer of the Eredivisie. As for his position he’s played 80% of his games at Right Wing, he is a right winger and that’s where we’d play him. Anyway obligatory video -
Nick Posted 10 July 2018 Posted 10 July 2018 Couldn't be more underwhelmed. I'll be very surprised if he comes close to the step up of playing in the PL.
Finnegan Posted 10 July 2018 Posted 10 July 2018 Narh it's one of those 2+2=8 stories where a clickbait news source links us to a winger that had a good year because we're losing Mahrez. There's nothing in it just as there was probably nothing in Felipe Anderson.
chapero82 Posted 10 July 2018 Posted 10 July 2018 Sod that I can’t pronounce his name so how will I chant him 1

StriderHiryu Posted 10 July 2018 Posted 10 July 2018 It's a yes from me! Disappointed during the World Cup during his brief appearances, but to be fair Iran were very defensively setup and did not have much of the ball. His form in Eredivisie was astounding where he was the top scorer and well the videos above show what he's capable of. He probably would be a bit of a gamble but at 24 years of age he would probably develop a bit more. For me he is a very exciting player and that makes him a great Mahrez replacement, because on his day that is something thing that Riyad excels at. Every team needs at least one true flair player and whilst that might end up being Maddison, a tricky goalscoring winger has been proven to work quite well at the King Power!

MC Prussian Posted 10 July 2018 Posted 10 July 2018 Kudos to @Happy Fox who unearthed this gem as early as spring 2015. 1
TrentFox Posted 10 July 2018 Posted 10 July 2018 His decision-making in the final third was extremely good. Admittedly, he has more time than he would in the PL, but he seems to play with his head up. Never a bad thing.

ian_marshall Posted 10 July 2018 Posted 10 July 2018 I admit that I know nothing about the lad, but purely based on the video above the positives appear to be that he is very direct, is pretty quick, can pick a man, and isn't a bad finisher. On the flip side his footwork looks pretty average, and the PL is a massive step up from the league he's currently playing in both physically and technically so his ability to adapt would be a concern. Having said that if we could get him at a reasonable price he may prove to be a decent signing.

Fox1norfolk Posted 10 July 2018 Posted 10 July 2018 Great technique and does not look as fragile as mares, buy him 1

Probably is paper talk, but I can see the attraction if he can step up. Edited 10 July 2018 by turtmcfly 1
Blue ROI Posted 10 July 2018 Posted 10 July 2018 Be a nightmare down at the KP printing off shirts with that name on it.
manders86 Posted 10 July 2018 Posted 10 July 2018 Just get the feeling some of the talent West ham are snapping up, we should be in that ballpark. Yarmolenko and Felipe Anderson in particular. They look to be getting their stuff sorted for next season.
