Wow you were quicker than me on that one before I changed it. The thread was worth it just for that photo ... brilliant,  made me laugh out loud!

Haha, cheers.

I just said to the Mrs 'Matthew Kelly isn't dead is he' as a pang of guilt went through me. Apparently still alive, well and still incredibly unfunny.

Yes and even inspired the Marhez haircut allegedly, who'd have guessed it!

Be interesting to see if the other players who won the league wish him well, not seen him retweet anything.

It would be really odd for any one of them to put out a public tweet/post specifically for that. About 8 players have wished him well on his Instagram post, and no doubt the other 20 have done so on their Whatsapp group chat, right before he was removed from it.

@urban.spaceman!  Why in heavens name did you post that goals compendium.  I was sure my loins were girded.  Quite sure -- for months now -- I had already moved on.

But that twisted the sword that apparently lingered in my gut.

Even if he runs wild, he’ll be at least slightly wasted in the Oil City fest of gluttony.

Infuriated me at times, but easily one of the club's greatest players. He bamboozled and dazzled and got us off our seats so many times. Credit Pearson's team for picking him up where they did. Remember losing my mind when he scored against Blackpool and Nige said 'welcome to the party' to him lol

Well, thanks for the party Riyad, you will be missed. I'm also glad we might have a bit more balance across the team now with Ricardo coming in. We need a decent replacement, that's for sure.

The King isn't dead - he'll be starting next to James at Old Trafford next month.

Please don't, that's not even remotely funny.

I can feel the love going on and I will also miss the guy.

But given the option who would you want back Kante or Mahrez ?

No arguments please....... but for me it would be Kante.

Sadly although Kante is the best defensive midfielder in the world I think it would have to be Riyad I would have back .

Simply put Kante saves you from losing games but Riyad wins them and harder to find talents like his - we will never see the like again.

Shut up you melt. People are free to move on, many players have and I’ve wished them well. It’s his disrespect for the club whilst under contract (which he happily signed) here. Just because I ain’t saying goodbye sweet prince I should get a life, ok!

How are you so sure that Riyad was the only one in the wrong? It’s not like the club’s got the best track record with this sort of thing (Exhibit A: Leo Ulloa).

Not saying he was the only one in the wrong but he still acted like a complete dick imo. I know many don’t feel that way

Tarnished your respect for him? Get a life, seriously.

People move on in their lives and careers, guaranteed 100% you would move to a more successful and better paid company with more opportunities just like anybody else would.

We've dreamed of having a player like Mahrez play for us help lead us to the heights he led us all our lives. We'll never see his likes again.

It's not like he's Lee Hughes or something and killed someone. Tarnished your respect for him? Have a word with yourself.

He was just saying the way he behaved tarnished things. Plenty of people agree, myself included. They way some people go on about him you'd think he was another level from messi. I loved watching him play for us and that title winning season he was immense but after that season the way he has behaved, well frankly i'm glad he's off. He's not a team player is he.

The ease in which he places the ball in the corners is bewildering really.

We’ll go on, but we won’t half miss him
