davelcfc100 Posted 18 August 2018 Posted 18 August 2018 It is, it was, and nothings going to change. Love Vardy to bits like all of us do but he made a poor decision, we have to move on. sometimes he loses it a bit, it’s part of who he is and I wouldn’t have him any other way. Sometimes though, you have to accept, shit happens.
Popular Post peach0000 Posted 18 August 2018 Popular Post Posted 18 August 2018 Following through like he did was dangerous and shouldn't be tolerated. Ended the wolves players game and was lucky not to break his leg. It was definitely a red card. 15
Beechey Posted 18 August 2018 Posted 18 August 2018 Yes it was. The rules of the game state: A tackle or challenge that endangers the safety of an opponent or uses excessive force or brutality must be sanctioned as serious foul play. Any player who lunges at an opponent in challenging for the ball from the front, from the side or from behind using one or both legs, with excessive force or endangers the safety of an opponent is guilty of serious foul play. Can you really in good faith state that Vardy's challenge did not endanger Doherty? Because he went in from the side, at the knee with the studs showing.
Popular Post Duncan_K Posted 18 August 2018 Popular Post Posted 18 August 2018 We won't win an appeal, but i think Vardy was unlucky. He's not gone in "knee high", that's absolute bollocks. He was first to a free ball, won it cleanly and then the odd angle the wolves player came i from caught him out, should / could have avoided catching him but he's not gone out to hack him, it's really unlucky. 7
The whole world smiles Posted 18 August 2018 Posted 18 August 2018 Stop attention seeking. Why does this need a thread we discussed it to death in the match thread and the post match thread? The upshot was anyone with half a brain agreed it was a red card a few people who miss football played to half empty stadiums in the 80's, where any flair players were kicked out the game said it wasn't. 1 2
Aus Fox Posted 18 August 2018 Posted 18 August 2018 The thing is by the laws of the game, we wouldn’t win an appeal on that sending off now. You will probably find an age difference in thoughts on this, those of us in the 30+ category grew up with tackles like this being on of the best parts of the English game and would say not a red. Unfortunately this sort of tackle with excessive force has been outlawed for the last 10 years or so. 2
Ian Nacho Posted 18 August 2018 Posted 18 August 2018 It's just one of those ones, on another day he doesn't even concede a free kick. 2 1
HighPeakFox Posted 18 August 2018 Posted 18 August 2018 I think the red mist descended and he went in to take the whole kit and caboodle. Sorry if that doesn't fit with some idealised notion of Vardy, but he lost the plot momentarily. 2
La-li-lu-le-lo Posted 18 August 2018 Posted 18 August 2018 I don’t think we’re appealing... more importantly it’s worrying why Vardy lost it like that seemingly from nothing..... you can argue red or no red all day, however he clearly saw red and went flying into the challenge like a lunatic. 1
That_Dude Posted 18 August 2018 Posted 18 August 2018 Thought it was only worth a yellow at first but after having seen it again, it's a stonewall red. Puel himself admitted it and we're not even appealing. Get over it. 1
TMELcfc Posted 18 August 2018 Posted 18 August 2018 In 2018 it’s a red card all day long. He should’ve learnt by now he cannot tackle like that... tit 1
Crispin LA Posted 19 August 2018 Posted 19 August 2018 Ian Wright send it wasn't a red card incident, he should not have been sent off on MOTD.

Not going to argue if it was red or not, but.. "endangers the safety of an opponent"? Is that all it takes? Plenty of challenges lead to a player being injured, should all those then be reviewed and the players given suspensions?
ozleicester Posted 19 August 2018 Posted 19 August 2018 Quoting different people "he said yes. she said no" is pointless, they are just opinions and worthless in the end. I didnt think it was a send off but, thems the rules. 1
Popular Post BoyJones Posted 19 August 2018 Popular Post Posted 19 August 2018 If all you bleeding heart liberals think that was a red card, you are what is wrong with the game. The opponent only got hurt because he bottled the tackle and then rolled around a la Naymar. Yes Vardy went in hard, but he is a proper player, go in half hearted and you end up getting hurt. I realise in 2018 that they are trying to make football a non contact sport, but if you make everybody like Nacho who shirks every tackle, then we night as widely play netball. Ok, I am from a different era, but all you do gooders are killing the game. 4 5
smr Posted 19 August 2018 Posted 19 August 2018 Mike Dean is still a twat though. Amount of times our players were fouled and not given anything, yet they were, that was throughout the game.

Bunyip Posted 19 August 2018 Posted 19 August 2018 If that had been a Wolves player doing that to one of ours everyone on here would have been screaming for the red card. It was a ridiculous challenge from Vardy and completely unwarranted. Personally, I think Vardy's time with us is drawing to a close he obviously doesn't fit our new style of play and is too one dimensional, hence his frustration. That kind of tackle is no longer tolerated in the modern game and quite right too. 1
Crispin LA Posted 19 August 2018 Posted 19 August 2018 Pickford challenge was way bad Southampton didn't even get a free kick yesterday. He should have been sent off! 1

It was most definitely a deserved red card. Had that tackle been committed by a Wolves player not one person on here would be claiming a sending off was undeserved.
