You'd better hope that, if you become ill or injured, that you aren't picked up by me, taken to A&E where you get seen bt Bryn only to be admitted under the care of Stokes :D

@Alfbentley. Also, may I say, so far 50% seems to be a top mark, does that mean we "professionals" know only slightly more A&P than the general public? If so people, heal yourselves and leave us alone. :P

For the record I'd have got 9/10, I'd have goofed the shoulder one because I'm hopeless at anything orthopaedic.

So what is your speciality?

By the way, I'm reading "Your Life In My Hands" by  Rachel Clarke. It's her story of a her experience as a junior doctor who went on strike during the doctor's dispute with the government and how the government and in particular, Jeremy C (rhymes with Hunt), and the lies and spin that went on. It makes an interesting read. I'm only guessing that you might have an affinity with that episode of gov v doctors. IMHO the gov, and certainly JC, (rhymes with Hunt), were shamelessly ruthless in their "lies" and spin. When I read the book it really hit home, even as a humble paramedic, we realised that what was being portrayed about greedy junior doctors was an utter fallacy. We know how much pressure junior docs are under, not just in A&E but in general and specialist wards. Believe me, you all have our complete respect.

Mutual mate, nurses and doctors get plenty of coverage but paramedics are a bit (a lot) of both, doing that shit in the streets and a ****ing van. That's hardcore.

I'm internal medicine, haven't subspecialised yet.

I remember her being quite prominent during the strikes. My overwhelming feeling of all that in hindsight is it was all so unnecessary, there are some good points in the contract but too much compromise on our side leading to poor quality of life, reduced pay and increased and more irregular hours. The animosity and lack of respect was awful and the rota gaps it's left in it's wake have made everyone's lives incredibly difficult. It doesn't seem that complicated to me, there just needs to be honest dialogue between frontline staff, the government and the public about what can and can't be provided on the NHS.
