Tough one before the international break.

They're on maximum points with no goals conceded.

Brighton put up a decent showing yesterday so there is a glimmer of hope.

Very, need to keep it tight and try and nick one.

Have a start like we did against Wolves and it could get messy!

We start every game poorly, they are notorious for being great starters and unlike the teams we’ve played so far they have the players that will punish you. I can see a similar game to last year where we go a couple down then start to play but ultimately it’s not enough. They will finish either first or second so really this game is a free swing.

1-3 scousers.

Yeah I think a comfortable win for the Scousers .

Still 6 points from the first four games with a decent run of fixtures after the Liverpool game is acceptable.

Yes I’d agree. As long as we avoid a thrashing I don’t really mind what happens in this match. At least last year we made them sweat a bit when we had the penalty chance to equalise.

The nearer the game gets, the more i'll think we can nick it. In the cold light of day today though, I suspect they'll have too much for us. I'd echo your sentiments regarding 6 points after these four games. Would have liked 7 or 9 and that's still a possibility but 6 points will be decent.

Start as we have in the first 3 games and we'll be 3-0 down after 10 minutes

maybe, just maybe - if we get behind the lads at home we might be able to win this.

if we can put all of the Puel moaning to one side and help build their confidence with some noise and support (like Maguire alluded to) then I reckon we could do alright.

Wonder if Iborra will be used as an extra screen in front of the back four ?  We need a calm head to distribute the ball when we win it back rather than lumping it long or conceding possession in our defensive third

Extra screen, we already have Mendy and Ndidi doing that....

Nobody seriously expects us to get anything from the game so expectation levels will be miniscule. Crowd will be lively and behind the team. Just can't afford another slow start. If the Manager insists on sending them out with instructions to pitter patter the ball about at the back with Liverpool pressing as always we could be in trouble. Hopefully Puel will be ahead of the game and send them out with rockets up their backsides, get on the front foot and get the ball in their half early doors until he game settles. A draw would be a good outcome.

Need to keep it tight from the start. Ndidi and Choudhury to protect the defence. If we can frustrate them in the beginning then we look to hit them on the counter.

Even worse if we start like we did against Man Utd

Hello!

I'm a Liverpool fan, and I'm looking for someone who might be interested in being on my podcast, in which we'll preview the match.

I am recording on Tuesday night at around 9pm, UK time.

Would anybody be interested? It should only take around ten or twenty minutes.

As for the match, I think that we are very hard to beat, although we haven't been very fluent in attack in our last two matches against Palace and Brighton.

Neither of those two, nor West Ham, managed to carve out many decent opportunities against us, but the best way to beat us is still to sit deep and play on the counter. We found it way tougher to break down Brighton and Palace than we did West Ham, who kept too high a line.

Thanks very much ?

Let's take the game to them and give it a proper go. We can beat them.

If we sit back and try to contain against Liverpool and/or Man City they will beat us comfortably.

We should attack them and try to win the game. If we get beaten then so be it but we might as well give it a go. COYB.

Both times at home last season vs these we were horrifying in the opening part of the game, something we're in the midst of doing again this season.

1-5 Liverpool.

When was the last time we got anything in one of these early kick off Saturday games? Man City away?

They play three in the middle and three across the front so another player in the central area might be prudent ........
