Has anyone heard anything in regards to the flowers and shirts currently laid down at the ground?

Edit: i hope they keep them for next week and give enough room for access to turnstiles.

Article in the times mentioned that the flowers would be moved to the corner of the car park close to the crash site and the shorts etc would be stored to be part of a permanent memorial within the stadium redevelopment.....

they will be moved before the Burnley fixture according to the newspaper

Its an incredible sight, stretches from the club shop right round to the kop now. There were 100's down the ground yesterday. Free drinks provided by the club as well. Queued for 30 minutes to sign the memorial book.

I went down this afternoon, looked amazing. So many tributes from so many different people and clubs. Queued for 20 minutes to sign the book of condolence - the marquee is really lovely inside. Also thought hot drinks was a nice touch on a miserable day. Would upload photos but it says my phone pics are too big, not sure why.

I went down yesterday afternoon at around 3.30 as I thought it would be quiet. How wrong could I have been! I wanted a 2018 poppy badge which are in the shop apparently but the queue for the main tills was like a match day. Nipped into town for a bite to eat and went back later.

If you haven't been down and you have the opportunity you should make the effort, it's incredibly moving.

In the end, sadly all the flowers will end up getting thrown away. Anything else will be kept and used as part of the memorial.

Expect the stadium to be renamed “Kuhn Vichai Stadium”.

my missus has just arrived for her night shift at the LRI (where she has seen first hand the good that Vichai has done) and has just sent me a video of a gospel choir singing outside the marquee. Tried to upload it but its too large. It's beautiful though

I think there is no chance of the stadium being renamed, King Power suits the needs of the company, and is too well known to be messed with.

It is nailed on that a stand, and( or) the training ground will pay respect to 'The Boss'

When is everything likely to be moved? Not been down yet and was planning on going on Friday morning.

i think it would be fitting for the shirts and scarves to be placed beneath a clear solid Perspex type flooring within the new stadium expansion … we will always be able to see these tributes - supporters may be able to find their own and be reminded of the emotions they felt at this time and those who were too young to know will appreciate the depth of feeling by the sheer number of shirts/scarves/flags  ………….

I like the same perspex idea but i have a couple more options maybe along the length of both sides of raw dykes road and renaming it kun vichai way, or maybe another idea is attached to the outer walls of the whole stadium.

I really wish they could keep it there on Saturday although I realise that probably isn’t practical with thousands needing to access the stadium.  Saturday’s match will be my first opportunity to be in Leicester since the tragedy, I’d love to see it and add to something myself.

I wonder if it would be possible for the flowers to be composted by the groundsmen and turned into soil to be used at the new training ground?

It would be interesting to see what they do with the shirts/scarves/flags. Originally there were plans for an arena in that area but perhaps they could create a space at the crash site for a new memorial garden/building where they’re all protected by glass walls?

It all depends on what Top wants to do with the stadium expansion plans now.
