Even watching the top 5 are boring. Spurs bore me to death. What’s the point in watching a Man City game too? Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal are all boring.

Liverpool only became boring after they got rid of their clown shoe defence

You considered following another sport? lol

LOL.

Sometimes. But I’m trying to make a point. I don’t think we’re that bad. The potential is there. We’ve just been spoilt over the last few years. If we were 3rd in the league it would get everyone pumped up but nobody would care if the football was boring, like Chlesea are. It’s our league position that’s boring but I’d rather where we were now than fighting relegation.

Bournemouth are below us in the form table having lost the last three and only managing to draw 0-0 with Saints (with their full team) getting only two shots on target in the process.

They're above us in the league and re the form table (last six games) they have taken more points than us. (Yes, I know they've lost the last 3 games)

However, their brand of football is something I like. Also, they haven't spent anywhere near the kind of money we have to achieve it.

Yes, they drew 0-0 at home with Southampton ... a bad day at the office perhaps ... but don't forget the two away games either side, were a 3-nil win at Fulham and a 4-nil win at Watford !!!

Worth noting that in most of our games, maybe not that last night, we have periods of a game where we do play some excellent stuff. We aren't able to sustain a performance though and we're not ruthless enough at the minute when on top. Take Burnley for example, we should have been a couple of goals up in the first half. I remember some of the games last season too where he failed to take our chances and then faded badly.

Im surprised i havent heard any praise towards Evans in this thread, I thought he was our best player on the night!. Was an absolute rock lastnight, very calm and collected with control of the ball and stopping most (limited) threats coming our way. Unsure how he would prove against a top 5 team but with a shit team performance we displayed, he held us together at the back with Soya.

Diabate im just not convinced that he has what it takes i dont see 1st team quality in him and he makes me nevous on the ball some reason. The biggest waste has got to be Silva, How much time / chances does a international/ ex sporting captain need? He provides no stability in midfield and i wasnt convinced yet again.

Gray was our second best i thought on the night, He puts so much effort and is looking fierce when attacking, I think his shot taking has improved and i almost love how he tried to curl that shot in towards the end of the second half. Hes come a long way from that sulking little bitch a few seasons ago.

Were you drunk last night? Evans was abysmal as per, too slow on the ball, picked the wrong pass 50% of the time, regularly gave away silly fouls. We can only hope Puel sees his mistake and fobs the guy off to someone who doesn't know better in January. Soyuncu is streets ahead.

Gray similarly was quite poor, very selfish and tried to do too much all the time, shown up by Diabate who was, when he got on the ball, direct and bought a lot of free kicks both in attacking positions and in defence to take the pressure off

Agree re Diabate, disagree re Evans.

I know i'll get alot of Sh^t for this, but we lost our way as soon as Puel took Silva off.

I'm not saying he set the game alight but, he looked decent with a few great passes and glimpses of class.

As soon as Puel replaced him for Mendy, we lacked any real intent.

Dont get me wrong i'm not suggesting Silva needs to be captain and play everygame. I just think he was unlucky to have been dragged off when other players were kept on.

Bring it on!!!!!!

Evans has been excellent in my opinion. Since Maguire has been out we’ve actually looked stronger at the back.

Less goals at both ends, Maguires ability to surge forward and create openings are a real miss in a team devoid of ideas.

True. Good point.

I’d be interested to see the points per game ratio with or without Maguire. He’ll probably get sent off in his first game back anyway lol

There could be something in that.

Maybe there's a disconnect between what the fans think is exciting and what the managers strive to achieve. That in a universe where there was a fan's game and a manager's game, the two would bear few similarities.

Seems quite reasonable to me that if you play two ‘Defensive Midfielders’ then the creativity through the centre of the park will be pretty much zero and everything becomes about crossing or ghosting in from the wings...

I agree with you 100% however, for various reasons it just doesn't work well at this particular moment for us. Which is frustrating. I long to see a through ball (played on the floor) for Vardy to run onto. It seems to be lacking at the moment.

We have players that can whip a ball in but we lack a player who can do something with it. Nacho is capable of winning a header as he showed last night. But has all of the grace of Hippo with 3 Legs.

I'd like to see a free reign given to Silva over a period of 3/4 matches with Mendy and N'didi just behind him sweeping up.

People are constantly banging about 'good football' and nauseating phrases like 'brand of football' but I think that the tactical changes of the past few years have killed my enjoyment of the sport which is something I never thought would happen. I had put it down to the hangover from 2016 but I rarely watch games as a neutral anymore other than the world cup (which was class) and Euros. I can't really think of any teams in the division who I would consider exciting.

The team contained 7 or 8 players that normally wouldn't be playing, let's not forget that.

I agree so what does that tell us?

lol There is a modicum of truth in that for sure.

That you can't just expect to throw together 11 players at random and expect them to play well together. These games are always disjointed.

Sometimes, I cynically hope we cut Puel lose and rocket into the Mariana Trench of the PL table, narrowly escaping relegation.

Some of the expectations that have been around our club since 2016 - and the people who find themselves holding those expectations - are poisonous and antithetical to the overall health of our fan base and the organization.

That's genuinely the first time I've seen that mistake. Usually it's 'loose' instead of 'lose' not the other way around

As terrible a game as that was to watch, I love this picture. Mendy is underrated so great to see some love going his way. I also liked that in the aftermath of this, he gave all the glory to Ward for his save, because tucking away a winning penalty is just something you do, you know ;).

You have to love Albrighton, Fuchs and Vard' reactions here too, that is the kind of spirit that won us the title. Teamwork makes the dream work!

Despite the odd tweet from RV, I've not seen evidence the players are against Puel. Someone is sure to enlighten me on here but they've seemed together as a group from what I've seen.

Not really, as I understand it, the fullbacks become wingers and the wide men tuck in.  Also with a number 10 and centre forward that gives you 6 attacking players in the move...In theory. anyway.  The two DCMs allow this.

I s'pose what we really want for Christmas us is a CM that can do the ugly stuff and also find a killer pass.

Randomly thrown together teams containing squad players rarely work, this isn't a new phenomenon either. Hence why we've been knocked out by some proper shit teams over the years. Our backup players aren't very good, ergo, our recruitment has been shit is another thing it tells us... but we knew that already.
