Had no idea it was him that left of his own accord the first time. Things off the field could have been the Wayne Brown incident? Someone on here said he was sacked because the owners wanted a household name...

Love you Nige!

I think Sousa being in the directors box at the Cardiff game didn't help.

Me neither, I'm sure that wasn't the way it was presented to us either.

I'd love it if he wrote a book but I don't think it's something he would ever do.

i think Mandaric knew exactly what he was doing.  he undermined Pearson. with Pearson leaving the first time of his own accord, no compensation needed to be paid.

Mandaric may have steadied the ship, but still don't trust anything he did here minus employing big Nige

WHich just shows the difference between Milan and Vichai. Short term vs long term planning and being business AND football savvy.

Don’t get me wrong - I believe we should appreciate what Milan did for us in the short term in hiring Pearson in the first place, helping us get out of League One, pushing for promotion to the Premier League and then, crucially, selling us to the right man.

There are several parts to Pearson leaving.

The first was his dislike of our then chief executive Lee Hoos.
The second was, having already experienced new owners taking over and sacking him, Pearson didn't want to have to worry about the same situation when Vichai took over (which happened that summer). So when Hull came in for him, he was more than happy to go, with Lee Hoos happy to let him go (cus they didn't get on), and Mandaric happy to replace him with his mate Sousa.

You can't blame him for leaving but you gotta love him for coming back (and everything he accomplished)
