Before each session, we’d go around picking dog shit up, to make sure it was clear for the players to train.

Mandaric may have steadied the ship, but still don't trust anything he did here minus employing big Nige

I still blame Mandaric for flushing us down the pan to div 1. You can't change managers like he did and expect anything other than relegation.

To be fair to the bloke he did promise to get us out of the championship ?

He did actually say we’d eventually get to the top of the mountain aswell.

He also swore blind that the people he was selling to had the clubs best interests at heart and that they would take us forward. So he wasn’t all bad.

Took my time reading that. I find there's an honesty in the way he speaks in these interviews. As Matt says, when he speaks you listen.

Pearson's stints were two terrific periods of growth and achievement for us. I find it so worthwhile hearing him give his own account of how it happened.

None of that makes up for taking us to our lowest point ever. He will always be the man that fvcker up that record.

There are several parts to Pearson leaving.

The first was his dislike of our then chief executive Lee Hoos.
The second was, having already experienced new owners taking over and sacking him, Pearson didn't want to have to worry about the same situation when Vichai took over (which happened that summer). So when Hull came in for him, he was more than happy to go, with Lee Hoos happy to let him go (cus they didn't get on), and Mandaric happy to replace him with his mate Sousa.

You can't blame him for leaving but you gotta love him for coming back (and everything he accomplished)

mandaric ‘ happy to replace him’ it was rumoured for a while he was repalcing pearson and then he turns up in the directors box. it was pre-planned. mandaric knew exactly what he was doing..

He used to get hammered for playing out of form players, you just wish sometimes managers would be that open when they are actually here and explain their thought process behind their decisions. Because if he'd explained it to people like he did there, then perhaps they'd at least understand his point of view, even if they didn't agree with it.

I doubt ‘I’m playing him even though he’s been poor because...’ to the press would have been great for that whole confidence problem.

Clearly I'm not talking about mentioning specific players!

I could have read a whole book on that, come on Nige get the biography out.

Re: Leaving the first time IIRC:

Mandaric was trying to sell, the talks with King Power were in progress, but nothing was certain.

When Hull made an approach for Pearson Mandaric said "sure speak to him", which made NP feel like he wasn't wanted here, Manadaric saw an opportunity to get a higher profile manager in to seal the deal/add a few million on to the deal without having to pay out compensation to NP and he had his mate lined up.

It was always Pearson's decision but Mandaric certainly held the door open for him.

What a bloke.

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again, when he talks (or there is an article) - you listen.

I still can’t believe people don’t appreciate and respect what he did for us.

Appreciate what he did......just think we've moved on.
