Assuming Tielemens signs... what do we do about CM?

Obviously we wouldn’t sign him to stick him in the U23s...

But this thread is just as much about Hamza after tonight.

So i’d be interested to know what people’s preferences are if we play 2 in the middle and 3 in the middle..

I can see it would be hard to drop both Mendy AND N’didi for. middle pairing of Tielemens and Hamza but it would be super harsh to move Hamza down the pecking order for a middle 3... but who would miss out?

Mendy and N’Didi haven’t played that badly really but the both of them together lacks so much creativity...

4-3-3

Tielemans - Ndidi - Choudhury

Maddison - Vardy - Gray/Barnes across the top.

Pure filth that, get it done!

Maddison on the wing doesn't work..

I'd say Tielemans and Ndidi against everyone outside of the top 6, with an attacking front four

Ndidi Tielemans Mendy/Choudhury against the top 6.

In a 2 he plays with Ndidi.

Does he play or are we just putting Silva in the window. It's costing us nothing. Tbh this is more about finance than football. If the rumours are true it will cost us more playing Silva than we make from the europa.

He'll play.

It's obvious that Puel thinks Hamza can play that sort of wide midfielder role out on the right, similar to Albrighton - so it wouldn't suprise me to see him shuttled out there on occasion.

Id almost have a home tactic and then an away one. The way we set up against the big teams away from home seems to work because our team of speedsters are great after a press or a counter-attack so two DMs and Albrighton or three DMs is fine by me, especially if Riccardo is RB because his offensive ability. At home we need more creativity though nut from more places on the pitch. Id love to see this at home....

Maddison/Tielemans - Ndidi - Choudhury

Gray - Vardy - Barnes/Maddison (Maddison here if we play Tielemans)

Maddison can play in central midfield with two ball winners ala Shaqiri does when they get him in for Liverpool.

Ac milan style 4321 could do well for us.

They got kaka and Costa on attacking midfield role, which one freely roam to right side wing, interchangeably. Something we can put barnes/Madisson there for roam to the left , or ghezzal/barnes when we want them roam to the right

In the midfield 3,one of them, Seedorf, constantly roam to another wings. But we might not need this role as our fullback is attacking the wings anyway. By this we can have mendy/ndidi Tielemans and Hamza.

Tielemans for pirlo role and Gatusso role played by mendy /ndidi. Hamza could take Seedorf role although not necessarily need given we have pereira there, making us have double Gatusso role

lol lol Kaka and Costa wake up. If we had anything like Barca and Real would be all over us.

Hamza will be the one that misses out and we will play 2 in the middle with Tielemans and Ndidi. When we play 3 in the middle (which we might do away at Spurs), maybe he will come in then, but most likely will be on the bench and not a starter. This is harsh on Hamza, but we desperately need someone in the middle of the park who can dictate and run the game for Puel's possession based football to work and Mendy has had a number of stinkers recently. Cast your mind back to when Fabregas first signed for Arsenal, despite being just 18 years old he was a first team player in the heart of their midfield and was a revelation. Tielemans isn't quite that type of player, but someone of that class would make all the difference.

I think Tielemans will make a big impact for us, but will either return to Monaco or sign for a bigger club in the summer as he won't be short of offers. But in that time it will probably allow us to identify someone who we can get permanently of a similar type who does want to join. That might make it look like we are "Shop Window FC" but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Liverpool lost Suarez and Countinho to Barcelona, Man United lost Ronaldo to Real Madrid and Spurs lost Bale and Modric to Real Madrid too. It happens to everyone, and if it means we get a few players for a few seasons that make a big difference, it will raise the profile of the club. Esteban Cambiasso and N'golo Kante only played a season each for the club, but those seasons were pretty good :)

I said about their role not ability.

Schmeichel

Pereira, Evans, Maguire, Chilwell

Tielemans, Choudhury, Ndidi

Maddison

Vardy, Barnes

id be up for that... but he’ll probably push Barnes a little further back along side Maddison and leave Vardy up front alone...

I can't see him being anything else than a rotation option.
He's dreadful since he arrived at Monaco and won't become a Premier League starter because he comes here.
I think he'll fill Silva's place at least for the time Puel will try to mould him into the team.

As much as he's effective Choudhury's still limited, he can tackle and he's got an engine but he offers little in an attacking sense whereas Tielemans is one of the best young, two way midfielders in European football. Its a bit daft seeing as it's unlikely we'll get him permanently but on paper he's better than what we have
