Dave Fishwick Posted 24 February 2019 Posted 24 February 2019 Seeing a lot of discussion from other teams fans that we are "entitled" after our title win in 2016. But what does that mean exactly? What do we feel entitled to be experiencing from our football club and matches? A run in a cup once in a while? Attacking intent, expansive football? To at least be entertained at home matches that we pay hundreds of pounds for each season? or none of the above?
foxfanazer Posted 24 February 2019 Posted 24 February 2019 It's a sport. We're not entitled to anything. We have a great owner and are in the top tier of English football 3 years after the winning the league. It ain't all bad This modern bullshit of 'we must play exciting, attacking football' is the annoying part. When have you known us to be that kind of side?
Kinowe Soorie Posted 24 February 2019 Posted 24 February 2019 Winning some home games and being hard to beat. Not bothered about the style of play. Aiming for 7/8th place.
brucey Posted 24 February 2019 Posted 24 February 2019 We may be entitled to expect things, but we are not entitled to anything.
DerbyshireFox Posted 24 February 2019 Posted 24 February 2019 It amazes me the amount of ‘fans’ of other clubs who think we expect top 4 or a title challenge. Nobody expects that, even the most entitled of Leicester fans. I think it has absolutely heightened expectations of people, but I don’t think it’s unreasonable for us to accept top half finishes pushing to be best of the rest with a goal of challenging to break the top 6.
urban.spaceman Posted 24 February 2019 Posted 24 February 2019 Standard switch kop and family stand joke.

Doesn’t stop at the top 4 clubs. We give Wolves some right shit on here because we say they’re deluded to think they were going to finish top 6. Nobody knows where that assumption came from, I’m sure if you asked a wolves fan before a ball was kicked this season they’d have snapped your hand off for 17th place. Don’t make it seem like we’re the only ones hard done to by fans of other clubs and their perceptions of us.
Nicolo Barella Posted 24 February 2019 Posted 24 February 2019 We are entitled to respectable goals from our board considering our level and broader context, and trying our best to achieve those goals. E.g. Burnley at the start of this season: Small run in the EL (fail) Mid-table finish (remains to be seen if it will work)
Mr Weller Posted 24 February 2019 Posted 24 February 2019 Doesn’t really matter because they don’t follow us. There is nothing wrong in wanting to be the best and nothing wrong with sacking a manager who is doing badly. That’s all there is to it really. If they want to keep failing managers that’s up to them and their club.

Wolves got a fair bit of stick on here (in particular). There were plenty in the media bigging them up. Give them their dues, they’ve backed it up. I couldn’t give a shit what people think about us, but it’s interesting to see what people’s perceptions are
Nalis Posted 24 February 2019 Posted 24 February 2019 BBC have your say section is possibly the most deluded, ignorant section of opinions on the internet. Fans of other teams look at the league table and think 'they're mid table, entitled dickheads'. But they dont understand the direction we were going. It started to remind me of Newcastle in our great escape season where they sunk like a stone and almost got relegated. The next season, lo and behold they went down. The life of a mid table team involves good runs, bad runs and inconsistency which I accept however we made consistently easy for weaker teams in the past couple of months to get a result against us.
DennisNedry Posted 24 February 2019 Posted 24 February 2019 We're entitled to nothing, however I think most of us expect something better than Puel was serving up, and it's reasonable to assume there's managers out there who can deliver that for us.
Corky Posted 24 February 2019 Posted 24 February 2019 Fans are fed up of losing matches- it isn't unique to our club. In fairness, at matches, I haven't heard a manager out chant since Sousa, despite what is being said on forums like this one. Ranieri was still having his name chanted in what was his final home match.
SystonFox Posted 24 February 2019 Posted 24 February 2019 We are entitled to play football the West Ham way, the Derby way, the Ipswich way and steam roll Burnley and palace at home.
David Hankey Posted 24 February 2019 Posted 24 February 2019 When I fork out my season ticket money I do not expect to witness inept performances week after week. I do not expect a manager to continually make poor selections in both the starting line-up nor his substitutions. Puel's boring style of football was taking us downward and I for one applaud the Chairman and the board for taking this decision in what, after all, has been a very difficult season for them.
MonkeyTennis? Posted 24 February 2019 Posted 24 February 2019 To win more than 50% of games is pretty much what I'm after.

You do realise there’s no guarantees that come with a season ticket? I’ve been spending money on Leicester for 50 years. Mostly it’s been shit. Occasionally good. On a few occasions magnificent. That’s football mate. If you’re looking for guaranteed excellence maybe try the theatre instead?

It’s the nature of the game.
Finnegan Posted 24 February 2019 Posted 24 February 2019 Entertainment. Anyone that tells you otherwise is a cancer on the sport that's completely lost touch. Only one team can win the league, we can't all win, that's fine. But we've all got a right to be entertained, it's what we pay a LOT of money for.

That’s fair enough, you’ve been consistent in that, but I have to say, a lot of Leicester fans lied about that. At the game yesterday a group were bemoaning any pass that didn’t go forward, then went on to say how they want Dyche in to play defensive football and settle for a 0 0 draw or sneak a boring win. When we had a humdinger against Wolves and played an attacking game away at Spurs I was expecting those who said they disliked the boring football under Puel to congratulate the new style. Not a bit of it I’m afraid. Just pissed off we lost.
Dave Fishwick Posted 24 February 2019 Author Posted 24 February 2019 great points there. So it isn't enough just to be entertained, you have to win a bit as well?
Brainy Posted 24 February 2019 Posted 24 February 2019 Its scary the amount of neutrals that believe we can't sack a manager anymore because "we expect to win the league every season" Anyone who thinks that is proving how out of touch they are with the club.

I didn't really see Wolves as a change in style, we've always gone at teams away from home, especially those that are considered good footballing teams. The problem at Wolves was less about tactical approach and more just a mix of awful individual errors and then some terrible tactical decisions. Why were we pressing with our full backs bombing on for a winner after we'd equalised? The fourth goal was entirely avoidable, tactically, yet we were pushing on to try and save his job with an impressive win instead of consolidating a point.
