Gazza M Posted 22 April 2019 Posted 22 April 2019 Ricardo defensively still has much to learn in my opinion. Another goal down his side with ease v West Ham. So a no from me in top 6.
Deeg67 Posted 22 April 2019 Posted 22 April 2019 Ricardo may be the best RB in the PL, but the longer the power clubs take to figure that out the better.

Ricardo isn't defensively good enough to play for a Man City either and no way can he be described as better than Walker.
koop. Posted 22 April 2019 Posted 22 April 2019 I think we're so so lucky to watch this city team right now packed full of top talent exciting times next year

shailen Posted 22 April 2019 Posted 22 April 2019 Kasper - potentially better than Leno but otherwise can't make a case for him. Ricardo- better than Young, Bellerin, Emerson. Not too far behind TAA, Trippier or Walker. Evans and Maguire - better than Smalling and Lindelof, Mustafi and Sokartis. Chilwell - only Andy Robertson has been better imo. Ndidi - only Kante is better imo but he doesn't play this position. Maddison - Eriksen, David Silva are the better players in his position. Tielemans- I think all the big 6 are missing a player like this. He would go into all their teams Barnes - think all the big 6 have better players than him but he's got potential to be better than some of them. Gray - wouldn't get into any of the teams but has potential to be a good player Vardy - would be starting for United, Arsenal, Chelsea for sure.

It's not impossible for us to have 6 players a bit better than their 6 weakest regular first teamers and still be well behind them in the table. If their remaining regulars are much stronger than our other 5 regulars (which they probably are) and their wider squad has a much greater depth of quality to cope with injuries/ suspensions (which it does) then that is probably going to explain the difference in points.

Okay, he's not the best defensively but in a top team dominating possession he'd be devastating. To think that Man U bought Dalot instead - for more money!? To think without Puel we would not hat got him.
Royston. Posted 22 April 2019 Posted 22 April 2019 Matty James could provide some competition for Drinkbeer at chelsea. Hes too comfortable with that ninth choice centre mid position.
jayfox26 Posted 22 April 2019 Posted 22 April 2019 Man City- Chilwell, Maguire. Liverpool- Maguire, Tielemans. Spurs- Ricardo, Chilwell, Tielemans. Arsenal- Schmeichel, Ricardo, Maguire, Evans, Chilwell, Maddison, Tielemans. Chelsea- Chilwell, Maguire, Tielemans, Vardy. Man U- Ricardo, Chilwell, Evans, Maguire, Maddison, Tielemans, Vardy.
dmayne7 Posted 22 April 2019 Posted 22 April 2019 Almost 2 questions to be asked here: 1. Who in our team is better than the equivalent in a top 6 team? Probably not that many. 2. Who in our team is good enough to play for a top 6 team? Probably quite a few Obviously the challenge for us is getting them to be more consistent, work on the mental side of the game and hopefully keep most of this talented bunch together.

Guest Posted 22 April 2019 Posted 22 April 2019 Kasper wouldn't get in any. ricardo would get in as an attacking wing back - not as a defender Maguire would get in as an attacking CB Evans should get in but wouldn't Wes would get in all of them - at least it seems he's indispensible Chilwell would get in as an attacking WB Ndidi could get in Hamza could play in any of them Maddison and Tielemans would not get in yet. Vardy could get in As a striker Vardy is definitely one of the best 5 in the prem. As a game destroying midfielder Ndidi is definitely one of the best 5 in the prem Maguire is a top 5 CB going forward Chilwell is a top 5 LWB Not really sure any of our other players are top 5 in the prem. I'd suggest the age of our team is in our favour and several may well become top 5 (as is our hope) but they aren't there yet.

Going forward, he may be top 3. He makes so many defensive mistakes he cannot be classed as even a top 5 prem RB when defence is important.

It's a serious stretch though isn't it, our weakest players are not that bad and one mentioned not in the Arsenal side is Vardy. We are the same amount of points behind Arsenal as Cardiff are behind us - we would be pissing ourselves if the taffs were saying six of there players would get in our teams.

Agree, Vardy's work rate, pace and finishing ability is second to none. With the chances Man City & Liverpool create, he'd score plenty.

It just goes to show how important some positions are in a team - our wingers have probably been our greatest weakness this season so far, and without those, you'll struggle to score enough goals to beat a few teams, especially those like Arsenal, over a season. (Hopefully it'll be much better next season, with Amartey back, freeing up Ricardo to play on the wing + Barnes and Albrighton, so...)
Nathan mcc Posted 22 April 2019 Posted 22 April 2019 Evans would walk back into uniteds defence in a heart beat

Gazza M Posted 22 April 2019 Posted 22 April 2019 Some Blue tinted opinions on here. I wouldn't put Ricardo, Evans, Maddison or Ndidi anywhere near a top 6 side. Mahrez was our stand out talent. He doesn't start often for Man City nowadays. Big jump in my opinion.
Guybino Posted 22 April 2019 Posted 22 April 2019 Chilwell getting a little over rated it seems. Bar the one cross for the goal vs W. Ham his final ball has been poo, he gets out muscled/falls over too much and his decision making has also been poo.
