Collymore Posted 10 May 2019 Posted 10 May 2019 Anyone else noticed how rubbish ours is compared to other stadiums? When at the Etihad I couldn't believe the quality of the sound. It was like being at the cinema at times. Hope we upgrade ours at some point, hopefully with the expansion that's been put forward it'll just happen...

RutlanderFox Posted 10 May 2019 Posted 10 May 2019 Wasn’t it a different PA announcer for the Arsenal game? Anyone know the reasons for that?
MattFox Posted 10 May 2019 Posted 10 May 2019 Would rather it was quieter given some of the awful music they play tbf
Wolfox Posted 11 May 2019 Posted 11 May 2019 Used to work in that line of business and I’ve been to a few European stadiums…. Getting the acoustics right and quality right in a large stadium is both complex and very expensive…. Also should meet EN54-16 standards for evacuation ours is a bit rubbish and yeah…. Who was the new announcer?

Danizen Posted 11 May 2019 Posted 11 May 2019 I used to love Birch's pre-match motivational ramble. The combination of his mumbling and our shit sound system meant I didn't get a word of it but it still got me fired up. But yeah, I'd be surprised if this wasn't being looked at considering the improvements the owners have made around the ground in recent seasons.

It's like he's commentating on the final furlongs of the Grand National! "Mumble Mumble Mumble needs you! Mumble Mumble best fans! Mumble BRENDAN MUMBLE MUMBLE" "THE TEAMS ARE IN THE MUMBLE!!!"

stripeyfox Posted 11 May 2019 Posted 11 May 2019 I can barely understand anything Birch says. But I think it is more him than the sound system as the stadium announcer is perfectly clear.

However when discussed at the FCC it was highly unlikely until ground expansion so it's all tied in together.
Guest Markyblue Posted 11 May 2019 Posted 11 May 2019 Th. .eams are .athering .. th. .unnel. cheers birch.
HybridFox Posted 11 May 2019 Posted 11 May 2019 Opens the gates for more opportunities as well if they can sort it out. Concerts/screenings etc

How long does he date back to I remember at Filbo (pre mobile days) the announcer asking some bloke to go to the infirmary because his wife had gone into labour - cue huge applause ?!!!

I miss those announcements. The best one was when he announced for someone to go to the infirmary after the game as his wife was in labour, I think we were only mid way in the first half
baldeagle Posted 12 May 2019 Posted 12 May 2019 To be fare who really wants to understand that bollocks on the PA it’s not like it’s going to be anything interesting
Hammo Posted 12 May 2019 Posted 12 May 2019 The PA is far far too loud (as well as unclear) - a real assault on the ears and one that I'm sure your average audiologist would frown upon. To be honest I'd be happy for the only noise in the stadium - before and during the match - to be made by the fans. I don't much care for Liverpool but in that respect they get it pretty much spot on.

How would they manage this without a decent PA system.
Walshy5 Posted 12 May 2019 Posted 12 May 2019 Also slightly off topic. How come they stopped the goal music in the past few games? Not that I'm saying it's a bad thing. Just wondering.

Vlad the Fox Posted 12 May 2019 Posted 12 May 2019 I never hear it because I’m too busy singing and chanting, if you can hear it you your the reason the atmosphere is crap and you need to clear off and let the people have tickets who won’t hear it (that doesn’t include old deaf people).

Have a heavy sesh last night pal? As this is bullshit
