I'm afraid with all the billions in the top two tier and the cash not filtering down to the lower leagues, situations like what Bolton and Bury are in will be more prevalent.

Just think a few years ago Bolton were Premier League and Bury were always well affiliated with Man.Utd

Everyone sees the money in football, but it's not in all the league's.

Without the real hardcore fans supporting these non fashionable clubs we will end up with empty stadiums and pay per view football.

Not for me.

Bury overspent on wages for last two years to gain promotion. They made those decisions. Not any premier league club.

A club like Accrington have achieved promotion within a budget whilst improving their stadium to achieve bigger crowds

This is bloody great to see. 300 volunteers at Gigg lane this morning ready to get the stadium in match state  for the weekend.

Amazing how this can bring people together. Also shows how much the clubs mean to the supporters.

If only the clubs had owners that felt the same.

This doesn't read well for the club at all. Sad to see this purchase being ruled out .

Looks to me as if they're saying the club has been run too badly for them to consider purchasing it. But are happy to share why the club's in a bad shape and how the EFL can alter rules to stop this happening again

So the current owner said that if a credible buyer came in then he'd happily sell up and leave, and now he wants to retain the land that the stadium is on which has ultimately lead to the takeover falling through?

What an utter, utter cvnt.

****ing disgraceful.

The league should put their foot down on it

Football League, FA etc have serious questions to answer on how individuals like Dale could ever get into a position where they can own a football club and run it into the ground.

Clearly years of financial mismanagement have gone on but it should never have come to this.

It makes a mockery of the entire system. An owner is willing to let the club go under rather than stick to his word and sell the club.

The league needs to be harsher and retain power to force sales

Should say also that if they do go, they'll be back it may take 10 years but there will be a new Bury or Bolton; Darlington, Hereford, Wimbledon, Halifax, Chester, Aldershot, Newport have all done it but it's a long way back.

What's the issue with their scoreboard and programme?

Such a pressing issue. Can see why they didn't have time to concern themselves with two of their most historic members going bust.

Am I correct in thinking that Gigg Lane will also be gone?A lot of those clubs mentioned have been lucky that they’ve kept their original grounds,or have found somewhere else suitable. It just makes the climb back even harder.

If Bolton go what the hell will happen to their ground?Isnt it practically the centre piece of the Town🙁

Absolutely awful situations for the fans. Bury and Bolton. I feel for them all.

Just been listening to 5live on way home from work and they were talking to both sets of fans around both communities.

Something needs to be done in terms of ownerships, checks and the football league actually going deep into who is buying which club.

Wow

No words.

They've gone too far here; these are 2 footballing communities who could be losing their clubs and all the history attached with it.

And they're making a "deadline show" out of it? This isn't just some transfer window; its people's lives, communities of people all being impacted irreversibly.

****ing ridiculous.
