Definitely, we used an option to extend his contract so he didn’t get a pay rise, he has had a couple of good performances for Romania so fair enough, probably get a new contract and loaned out

Agreed, but I think the short-termism in football management plays a part here. Rodgers has probably never had Pascanu scouted and he probably hardly works with him on the training field. When it comes to promoting youth, a new manager either follows his predecessor by giving the same youth players as he did a go (Choudhury) or gets his recommendations from the youth teams' staff. Unless those staff are all saying, this guy is the real deal, he's going to be a Premier League star one day, why would the first team manager risk their fragile hold on their job, knowing that a poor 10-game spell could see him out the door? I'd love nothing more than to see loads of youth players come through, and we are producing a few that probably deserve a chance, but I get the feeling that their best chance is to go out on loan and have a proper standout spell before they'll be considered as first-teamers here. Including Pascanu - he has too many players ahead of him currently.
