Was sung by a lady in three cranes hotel one Friday night in 1967. Small group of Leicester sang along and the next day took it to Filbert Street with them.

Certainly one of those there that night still goes.

This is definitely the type of thing the club/we need to explore more.

A simple page in the programme or a YouTube video (they seem big on these lately) exploring small bits of Leicester's history.

They need to do a much quicker version aligned to the actual chant so people can go into "we're Leicester" at the end.  Far too slow and sedate at the moment.

No they don't, it's an anthem like YNWA.

Should they speed that one up as well or just make the time to actually fit it in properly like they actually do.

Still improvements to be made as we aren't signing the end part which is critical for med.

Did she finish it in fifteen seconds aswell ?   Must have been the end of her set at k/out time !

When I first started following Leicester in 1988, I loved the fact that "when you're smiling" was boomed out across the Kop and everyone sung it loud and proud.

It wasn't as slow as Jersey Budd's version but it is sung far too fast and not loud enough for me atm.

When we get to the line "The whole world smiles with you" at the end, it is actually sung in a spoken/mumbling fashion like people can't wait to get the song over and done with.

Let's resurrect this brilliant Leicester anthem, and sing it loud, proud and at a speed everyone can agree on.

...the Jersey Budd version is too slow and overly stylized!!!

It requires a quicker tempo, so we need to go back to the original.

YNWA is sung at the right tempo, a bit strange to suggest speeding it up, as you would not look to speed up the National Anthem.

I disagree, I don't think it needs a quicker tempo. Anyone in Eindhoven would not have wanted that to be over any quicker than it was sung that night.

It's already not very long

The club have listened to the fans regarding playing this ahead of games. If the fans don’t get on board with it then don’t be surprised when the next suggestion isn’t acted on and we get uptown funk back !

just sing !

We need uptown funk back definitely

We’re trying to create an atmosphere at the KP. Many teams have different, random, songs that they belt out. The important thing is that they have THEIR song and not its musical integrity. Personally I can’t stand that Pru Leith song that Hibernian fans sing, but others seem to love it.

Play the JB version of WYS before kick off. You can sing it again, as often as you like, throughout the game - and as fast or as slow as you bloody well want to.

One things absolutely for sure though. We won’t get anywhere by arguing about the musical merit of every suggested song like a bunch of amateur music critics. You’ll never please everyone

...what I am saying is, it needs to be sung at a quicker tempo (than the Jersey Budd  version) and with a much longer rendition!!!

If we’re going to do nostalgic songs I quite liked the tune to “You’re gonna get your fvckin head kicked in”

What about this forgotten classic from the 70s. I know Union FS like a classic but they've missed this one. Some might say it got rightfully left behind at Filbert St

Nope. They sing it fairly regularly actually.

It was absolutely butchered in eindhoven with everyone singing it at a different tempo. Doesn't need to be quicker or slower, people just need to learn it.

Think lsf would be better before games to be honest.

There's always at least one middle aged bloke who will stack it at least three times, someone wearing a cp coat who gets the words wrong to every song and a youth who hasn't realised he's got IBS yet.

...how can you sing the Jersey Budd version, without thinking your performing on a stage!!!

A poll would be a good way of evaluating which version is suitable. For me the Jersey Budd version is just poor.
