The problem it seems is the original tune is sung too fast, but it is surely a lot better than the JB version.

The original tune is like a funeral dirge, jersey budds version actually sounds like a football song.

I think this was the problem back when it was released in the championship years people were used to singing the more up tempo version so it never took on. 

 

This time round people don't really sing wys anymore so there is definitely room for the Jersey budd version to take off.

Jersey Budd's version is the only version that even sounds remotely like an anthem.

I know I’ll get slaughtered, but I think WYS is total rubbish. We’re at a football match not a funeral, totally uninspiring. Boring as hell particularly the JB version. Hopefully the players never hear it. 
 

I’ve been going 60 years and can’t understand why people would want to sing such a downbeat song. it’s not the words, it’s the arrangement. Painful listening to our rendition, you’ve obviously had a skinful if you think it’s sang well and uplifting.

Sounded amazing tonight in SK1. I was doing my best to belt it out but I don’t mind saying, I was wobbly and emotional so not much sound came out 😂 what a night. Just wish we’d gotten the winner.
