He was knocked off balance and caught him whilst trying to regain it. Im not arguing it wasn’t a red but it wasn’t deliberate either. 2

I totally agree with that but they are all players who can and often do play well and influence results. Perez just doesnt influence the team enough. 1

He did look to have a few good touches tonight but yet again when it matters he fluffs his chances. The awful cross to the keeper when he had loads of time and the crap shot which he scuffed wide. I know it can happen to any player but with Perez it happens every time he’s in a good position. He was fouled from behind which knocked him forward so I wonder why that wasn’t taken into consideration for his ‘foul’. If I was pushed into someone and knocked him off a cliff would it be my fault or the guy who pushed me? Anyway overall all, before his red he showed how crap he is when it matters. Sign a pissing guy to play on the RW for piss sakes!

PL leftbacks facing Perez must come off the pitch thinking “that was easy”. What threat does he pose? (apart from to your shins). Even looking at charitably - he had a few lively moments before getting sent off. There was still a few egregious flashes like the cross under little pressure floated into Fabianski’s hands.
