And yet Evans got Leicester’s POTY bestowed by Rob Tanner for the Athletic.

 

Clearly whoever’s picked the overall TOTY for the Athletic hasn’t bothered to consult Tanner.

Mildly amused (read pretty smug) that two TOTY selections have Soyuncu included, Evans unlucky not to be in and it's a tough call to decide on one rather than the other. Absolutely no mention of Maguire and we got a world record fee for him. I realise for defenders that the others around you have a significant impact and the poor b@stard is playing with Phil Jones but still

I love Cags, but Evans has had the better season and would partner Van Dyke in my team of the year. N'didi unlucky to miss out too.

Fernandes! Should be Ndidi/Madison or Grealish and Vardy replacing Aguero.

Big fan of aguero I really am but how is vardy the top goalscorer of the league not in this team. And somehow fernandes sneaks in, this sums the bbc up

Completely agree. Soyuncu gets a lot more attention maybe due to Maguire replacement and his style of play. Arguably why we got Evans for only 3 million when no one was really looking at him. He does the basics outstandingly well and for me has been the best central defender behind VVD this year.

Decent team. I would have Evans over Soyuncu. 

 

Plus I dont think Grealish should be in a team of the season. Very talented undoubtedly but in team of the season I don't think he comes close. 

- Mahrez has been outstanding

- Ndidi has been incredible, biased maybe but there is no better ball winner defensive midfield in the league.  

- Traore every time watched Wolves he has looked dangerous and always does something. 

- McNeil from Burnley has done very well and offered more than Grealish.
