Those goals dried up later in the season - presumably other teams got wise to the ploy. I would like to see it tried again with Ricardo playing the Riyad role. Why waste probably the best right back in the league by playing him as a winger? Simple solution is buy a winger good enough to start rather than settle for Albrighton who clearly isn’t the answer or move arguably our best player out of position.

That was when we won the league, the goals you are probably thinking about are the 2 carbon copy goals he scored vs West Brom. During the great escape season, Albrighton barely played under Pearson until around March time when we went 3-5-2 and he was the right wing back with great success.
StriderHiryu Posted 23 October 2019 Posted 23 October 2019 Wingers - Realistic options: Yannick Carrasco - (Dalian Yifang) Domenico Berradi (Sassuolo) Hwang Hee-Chan (Salzburg) (Might be too inexperienced right now) Jonathan Bamba (Lille) Rafa Silva (Benfica) Ryan Fraser (Bournemouth) Everton Cebolinha (Gremio) (Might be too much of a gamble to adapt from South American football)
wattolcfc Posted 23 October 2019 Posted 23 October 2019 I'd like to try a loan deal for Foden. The guy needs game time or will never hit his potential, surely he and Man City see this? We'd be the perfect club for him at this moment in time!

Where would foden? I’d say CM is our strongest area.

I thought he was more of a versatile forward like Perez than a traditional winger. They have another impressive player of similar style in Takumi Minamino

I was under the impression he could play on a wing too, much like Maddison (hopefully better than him on the wing though).

I'd love to sign him but can't see them letting the poor lad go, even though he will probably never get the game time there.
TJB-fox Posted 23 October 2019 Posted 23 October 2019 Would love an out and our winger who’s guaranteed to provide a cumulative 20 goals and assists per year. Basically Mahrez
StriderHiryu Posted 24 October 2019 Posted 24 October 2019 Marcel Sabitzer of RB Leipzig anyone? What a hit this was! https://streamja.com/O3Jp
Nicolo Barella Posted 24 October 2019 Posted 24 October 2019 This topic intrigued me and I did some snooping... Neres is getting benched by Promes at Ajax, has been most of the season. If this continues, I think we could snag him for considerably less than previously quoted prices during the winter... We all know how good he is, just been benched off a small period of bad form which Promes has capitalised on. Anywhere from €30-40 million would be a good deal

I said yesterday, I can also see Leon Bailey being more attainable after a mediocre season last year and a few injury problems so far could see them cash in as they will exit the CL bottom of the group.

Bailey seems more like a one season wonder with each passing year though
Dahnsouff Posted 24 October 2019 Posted 24 October 2019 How is Suso looking this season? Just checked his outline stats Games Goal Assists 8 0 1 But haven`t watched him, so not really sure. Seems Wolves and West Ham are "considering" offers..

He was in the same Genk team as Ndidi and both looked phenomenal and that they could make it at a bigger club. Ndidi has more than lived up to expectations for us. As have other players that have come from Belgian football. 1 minute ago, Dahnsouff said: How is Suso looking this season? Milan have been shocking all season and have already fired one manager. Most people seem to think he has an attitude problem, but he was their player of the season in the past, and Rodgers knows him well having given him his debut. He'd be a punt, but so is everyone. Even Perez who was "Premier League proven" has not lived up to expectations - yet. Hopefully he still comes good.

As I told you all during the summer, he's continuing his awful form He is very good at about 3 things, and very bad at everything else, including tracking back, workrate, linking up, adapting his play, and he has a primadonna attitude, seemingly. He's just not great

Done
fuchsntf Posted 24 October 2019 Posted 24 October 2019 Fans suggesting players..!!! Never works. Our squad,is has it is.... and thats the One I support..!!! if and when Rodgers & Management decide to dip in the transfer market, then that Top up,und the squad, again is the One I support.. in these last 2 seasons,I havent seen one recommended or suggested Winger or other player, that Hits me,and crys out "We must have" Outside the obvious ones that joined....!! I cant moisten my lips on Dream suggestions, there is alot of Football yet to be played before we can even contemplate the " Next incoming" Upto then lets see how far our squad und various formation-selections can take us....I Enjoy the supporting our side as it is,without frustrating myself on supposed potential/OTT future buys. All These names.. they aint here,so they don t count..Simples!!! For all our present players....
