Starmer Next Labour Leader

You just have to look at the media representation of the party now.

Out have gone the Alan Johnson types and they've been replaced by Owen Jones, Ash Sarker, Holly Rigby, Fazia Shaheen (delighted she lost btw the rancid little antisemite) Jon Lansman and Aaron Bastani.

They've turned Labour away from the North and into a coffee shop clientele of London, convinced they can win an election on liberals, students and public sector workers

Have a watch of ITV coverage last might when they ask Owen Jones what northern seats he campaigned in, Stockport he said (where he was born) and the rest of the six weeks he swanned around Chingford obsessed with unseating IDS.

They had barely anyone out on the streets of Grimsby but flooded Uxbridge with activists as they genuinely thought Boris was in trouble lol Did they just canvass the student areas? Probably did. Then we get to the results and Boris has increased his majority lol

The Tories sent their activists from Uxbridge to Kensington around 5pm - and then won it by a couple of hundred.

Then while that was happening Labour moved activists to Golders Green just to make sure they stopped Berger winning when they had no chance themselves. Yet they didn't even need to.

The party is now ran by complete and utter morons. These momentum types just know nothing about politics or strategy and they got drunk after 2017 thinking they had actually won it, when the reality was it was a terrible result against an awful Tory campaign.

Campbell and Mandleson were bastards but they knew how to do this sort of stuff, the Labour NEC now don't.

I think I heard this somewhere before (or I've said this before), so it's by no means a fresh take, but isn't the whole ethos of the cult that's taken over the Labour party that they "work best" when in opposition?

They can shout, scream, proclaim they'll do this, that, t'other and blame everyone and everything for the ills of the world (and yes, there is a legitimate amount of blame to pass around.) They can castigate New Labour, go after their enemies even if they're red themselves and enjoy life screaming as opposition.

They almost don't want power, it feels like? They surely knew that they weren't going to win. They surely knew that with Corbyn's reputation, the antisemisitm allegations and dithering on Brexit all since 2017, they were never going to win? Never. Are you telling me they didn't do one internal research group which told them they had no chance in the north? BS. This is a nice little cult who enjoyed hijacking the party to elevate themselves into opposition.

Was mentioned above, it's like all the work Kinnock, Smith and Blair did each in their own way to resuscitate the party following Foot's 1983 manifesto has just been blown to bits. It's all very depressing, because (I hope) that no matter how much of a dyed in the wool Tory you are, you want a robust, decent opposition who can hold your guys to account, to make sure they're doing the best job and what's best for people.

Dunno yet, but just joined up on impulse after reading one of the saddest text messages I've ever received.so look forward to having my say.

Corbyn should have resigned before I woke up this morning. It's a disgrace he thinks he can save it for a farewell do after a night like that.

Totally agree with that - @Alf Bentleysaid it best when he stated if he stays it just doesn't look like it's being taken seriously, move to oust him should come now. You can imagine the farewell can't you packed with people singing oh Jeremy Corbyn.

Another big thing is what you do with him after - under the official IRHA definition of antisemitism he should be a goner from the party, does the new leader have the guts to do it?

This is going to haunt the party for years - they've spent the last few weeks telling the country to make this man PM, how do they explain this away?

Very well put and I find it surprising how many people I have to remind that democracy works best when you have challenging opposition

This is exactly why Labour lost.

I replied saying I’d rather we had neither, and got called a centrist.

As if that’s a bad thing.

What labour/corbyn fanboy people aren’t realising is that you can do whole lot more for the disadvantaged by being in power from the centre/soft social democrat position, rather than being in opposition from the socialist left.

On sky news earlier they talked to the reps and the labour member said something like

'The electorate need to think about what they are voting for"

She didnt even realise what she was saying either, this is now what has captured the labour party - they are right and everyone else is wrong.

Despite me taking the piss and enjoying it we do need a strong viable Labour party - as I've said a functioning democracy needs options, or is ceases to be one.

Think they need to get it right or I could see the party splitting up, to me it seems like we have a London posh sort of labour and a midland/northern working class type labour. I’ve no idea who can unite the party but I hope it’s someone decent because I’ll need an opposition that I can vote for should BJ not follow through on his promises.

I've never had such a mixture of distain and sympathy for people like Liz Kendall, Jess Phillips and Wes Streeting - totally with them in trying to fight the lunatics from within.

But Yesterday you were asking us to make him the ****ing Prime Minister - Jewish people were ready to leave the country and you still wanted to make him the Prime Minister. You can't just wash this off yourself.

Guys like Woodcock, Mann, Austin at least had the moral courage to step down and tell the nation he is not fit to lead the country.

We've disagreed about this before but if the reasonable lot resign then you've left the asylum to the lunatics.

Cummings is a bit like Rodgers at Celtic though, difficult to gauge his success. He was up against Remain 2016 and Labour 2019, both of which were awful campaigns.

Yep - you don’t have to be brilliant, just better than the opposition

100% agreed.

Lets actually call it for what it is:

Labour is now a racist party (hiding behind the term antisemitism), with a until now, a conveniently silent set of current MP's.

Nasty Party.

Can we get back to the old (New) Labour please.  At least they were inclusive of all.........

I’m also thinking of joining, I feel a bit hypercritical moaning about the direction of the party but not doing anything about it.
