We won't beat Chelsea the way we've been playing so far this decade. Also think Brendan will be concentrating on the league, our squad suddenly seems wafer thin.

Chelsea aren't anything special. 

 

We shouldn't be concentrating on the league, we are literally one game away from a semi-final. Rodgers put a strong side out against Birmingham and I expect  the same against Chelsea. Should be a good game actually because Lampard will go for it given this is their last chance to win a trophy this year (they aren't overturning 3 goals at Bayern).

The negativity in the this place is terrible somtimes.

 

We've literally drew with Chelsea at home already this decade at home. a game in which we it's widely acknowledged that we had the best off with double the amount of shots than them. Oh and Ndidi was missing! Not huge stretch to think we could beat them next time out especially with extra time and penalties in the mix.

I think we'll be happier with the draw than them.

 

All I wanted was to avoid Man City and if we did that either get a home draw or a lower table team away. We've done that and there are no easy draws with an all PL QF.

 

Another good thing about the draw is all of the four "big six" clubs were drawn away which gives some room for an upset or two and the possibility of an easier SF or even Final if we extremely lucky.

They play Bayern a few days before they play us, that could be pivotal.

If Frank had anything about him he’d play the kids (more than he does now) for that Bayern game. 3-0 down all away goals not a chance of scoring 4 without reply. Hopefully he doesn’t see it like that and play full squad so knackered for our game on the Sunday.

Maybe, but needs to balance the chance of those kids getting stuffed 4/5/6 zip which would mess them right up for a few years. They'll have the play some first team players to avoid a total rout.

Also it sends a message to the dressing room, that he doesn't believe in them. I remember Brendan losing the Liverpool dressing room for playing the reserves v Real away.

Yeah, tricky all round for them. That combined with the fact we're at home, you'd like to think we'd be narrow favourites.

Bans will allow Jorginho and Alonso to get a forced rest anyway.

Yeah I didn’t mean the under 16’s. Has to play young lads coming through like that Gilmore. Even their squad from Tuesday without Giroud and other stronger players you’d play in the semi final. Both us and Chelsea have to prioritise, like we did at Porto away.

We'll be full strength 100%, we have a week off before and an international break straight after... It's Chelsea that need to be careful, not us

Man United will have to take one of the Sunday slots as they're playing Thursday. 

 

Chelsea play the Wednesday before, Man City Tuesday.

We have a fairly decent record against Chelsea over recent seasons..remember losing 1-2 at home to them midweek, in the great escape season..NP played a weakened team against them ,saving some legs for a more "winnable" game at the weekend. Chelsea won the title but i thought we could have beaten them that evening, we led them up until about the 70 minute. But we avoided relegation so NP knew what he was doing!
