Henry Cavill as 007 would be good, apparently was so close to playing bond back in 2006 for Casino Royale but Martin Campbell felt he was too young at 22. Now aged 37 perfect age for Bond.

Sorry, but I detest any Bond film. I cannot for the life of me, suspend disbelief sufficiently to enjoy any of the trite, childish, far fetched and, frankly ridiculous storylines, plotlines and characters in any of them and yes, I have watched them because my wife likes them so I kinda have to.

I find them toe-curlingly awful.

Just MHO.

BUt thats why,I go to Cinema to watch, trite, far fetched, ridiculous, made up Films & books....

I have seen Too much of Real Life ( like you,but from Another perspective)

Though always loved prefered, all types of Documentaries....

I always thought Samantha Bond, aka Mish Munnypenny was a bit of a looker ...   and if I was James Bond I certainly wouldn’t have said Dr No to her ...  but more likely introduced my Thunderball to her Octopussy ...

Would argue he is a bit pretty, especially coming after a bit of rough in Daniel Craig. What is Jimmy Nail up to those days?

For me torn between Henry Cavill and Tom Hardy, funny really cause if either them came in I reckon you'd two different style of Bond's Cavill, I think would be more suave and suited Bond probably you'd get mixture of young physique of George Lazenby while getting the humour of Roger Moore. I think for the old school Bond fans who prefer Bond before Craig era would certainly warm to him. Hardy on other hand I think you get more of streetwise Bond, who you may see in a tux and suit occassional but most of the time he will dress casual and look to be more blend in act like a real spy. I think you'd see more of gritty edge even more than what he got currently. Hardy will play it more cold.

Watched The Living Daylights and License to Kill yesterday, the ones with the welshman. I'm aware he didn't play it as a welshman.

I had forgotten how decent The Living Daylights is, cracking Bond movie. License to Kill is still good but it just feels more like a run of the mill 80s action film.

Goldeneye next, the film that made me a fan of the franchise as a wee lad.

The Living Daylights is one of my favourites, good theme tune too.

Nah, Moore is the best Bond by a mile. The only actor to see it for the escapist nonsense it is. The only actor to actually look like he was having fun playing Bond, and showed it.

No worst by a mile for me ..  even worse than Niven in the spoof ..  looked like a big ponce !

Connery - Good for 3 films, then fell out with Cubby Broccoli and mailed it in for the remainder of his Bond career.

Lazenby - Adequate, could have grown into the role if he'd done more.

Dalton - Looked bored doing Bond. Looked like he would rather be playing Hamlet at The Old Vic.

Brosnan - Couldn't decide whether he wanted to be Connery or Moore.

Craig - Looks miserable playing Bond. Like a hod carrier with hemorrhoids. Mailing it in now and just doing it for the money.

"Oi, Lazenby, NO! You were adequate but could have grown into the role if you'd done more!

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/films/0/sean-connery-turned-japanese-live-twice-became-cursed-bond/

dark cloud hovering over the set, amplified by tensions between Sean Connery and Broccoli, and Connery’s general unhappiness at playing Bond for the fifth time. He believed the character had become boring, particularly as Bond hadn’t been developed past his surface characteristics during his franchise tenure. The fighting between both men got so bad that Connery refused to leave his trailer if Broccoli was on the set.

At this point in Bond history, Connery had also become an international superstar, but the level of attention he was experiencing was driving him to distraction. An incident in which Japanese photographers pursued him into a public bathroom left him infuriated, but it was repeated encounters with a stalker, who seemed to trail Connery throughout filming, that appeared to be the straw that broke the camel’s back.

Connery was also vocal about his displeasure with his salary, which amounted to $750,000 plus 25% of merchandising profits. He made it publicly known that he would only return to the franchise for a sixth film if Bond rights owners Eon Productions paid him a million dollars plus a percentage of the film’s gross. Their dismissal of his demands resulted in the role being briefly assumed by the infamously problematic George Lazenby.

He really ponced it up in The Cannonball Run film... playing a character who was pretending to be Roger Moore playing Bond.

Bought 5 of these today. Goldfinger, Octopussy, You Only Live Twice, Diamonds Are Forever and For Your Eyes Only.

They were 50 quid, reduced to £12 in HomeSense!

The frame is worth more.

Now I just have to persuade the Mrs to let me put them all up in the living room!
