Matchday Programme

Recommended Posts

I wonder if the club will still contuine to print a matchday programme for the remaining games, I have noticed one or two other premier league clubs have announced they will print limited amount and be posting them out in time for the game. Wonder if the foxes will do this also?

I don't know how many they sell on an average match day. It seems like most people don't buy one. I've brought the odd one over the last few years (Everton 15/16, Champions League etc) but don't bother otherwise

I suppose it's possible they might sell even more for a behind closed doors game (novelty value) if they sold them online and promoted them?

I notice it appears to have shrunk a little over the last couple of seasons.

I pick one up if I’m there ridiculously early and no one is meeting in the pub.

The only one I've ever kept was the special golden one given to fans during the final game at Filbert Street.

It has definitely shrunk in the last couple of years. They were quite an extravaganza a few seasons ago.Almost like a book😂

My Dad still buys one for every game and keeps them neat and organised.I read them when I visit. To be fair they may have understandably reduced it but it’s still a cracking read.Well done to who ever produces it.Would be a shame to see them disappear.Looks inevitable though.

Same. So I can agree with you on that. I like flicking through and even just reading the names of the squads.

I think some of the lower division clubs don't do they anymore purely because they were losing out on cash. Sad but obviously money is more important/tighter for them.

I know it’s a non requirement now,but I’m yet to go to a non league ground and they’ve not done one.In fact they sell out very quickly, though that could be because they don’t make so many.

I volunteered at a non-league club in the North-West for a couple of seasons while I was at uni and produced the programme for them.

The only reason it was financially viable for us was that we had a sponsor who printed them for free but as you say it meant a small print run.

A few of our regulars would pick them up every week but I would say the main market for them are your ‘groundhoppers’. The type that visit loads of non-league clubs and blog about their experiences - they seemed to like having something tangible.

The League used to only allow a digital programme if paper ones were produced. That changed this year but most still produce paper ones. It used to take me around 10hrs to produce a 32 page programme and I’m not sure there would be the motivation to do that just for a digital one!

The NLP resident ground hopper goes berserk if there’s no programme dosern’t he.End of the world stuff.I did wonder that as most semi pro clubs programmes are 75% adverts, that it might actually be viable to still try and shift a few.Of course these clubs rely on volunteers like you dedicating time and effort. In return I suppose you gained valuable experience.Still I hope you at least got a free ticket (and programme)

I try and pick one up every game, started when i was a kid and games just don't feel right if I haven't picked one up.

Always great thing to read on a journey home after a game. I'm always interested to find what they do with the ones they don't sell on a matchday I mean they have thousands, I know the club do resell some in the club shop anyway but where do you store thousands and thousands programmes each week?

Just received the package through the post, including instructions for match day programme. I assume you've got, or you'll get, yours @Leicesterpool

Anyone know if we can pay to download one??
