We have a backline of Jonny Evans, Ryan Bennett, Wes Morgan, Luke Thomas and James Justin. We are going to concede against good teams...

Last time we got battered by Spurs we had a defensive injury crisis as well. This isn't unexpected in any way.

I miss watching us play counter attacking football though. So much more exciting than possession football. :(

Jose was never going to set spurs up to allow us space to counter.

Doubly so when they score first.

Hopefully we'll see a bit more risk taking, like leaving Vardy and another up when defending a corner.

The conceding part, yeah we do have defenders out which is fair enough, my main frustration is all the faffing about with passing, instead of just getting the ball forward with urgency.

It seems from the replies most people prefer the possession football over the attack with pace?

Who wants us to dribble forward instead? fast counters.

So frustrating.

Barnes is usually that player, maybe Maddison at a push, one is injured, the other bang out of form.

Barnes is making the occasional good run and dribble, but just runs into a blind alley or lacks quality.

We knew at the start of the season how our squad lacked quality in depth, and we are paying for it.

Rodgers has already been in the media about relying on players to much, and he’s finally looking at recruitment, I personally think he needs to clear the decks and have quality in reserve to rotate, not championship level players

Was talking more in general, we've gone towards dominating possession and playing out from the back under Rodgers (Puel as well to some extent), I just don't enjoy watching this style of play as much. There's just something more aesthetically pleasing to me about a Kasper assist > Vardy goal, than scoring after intricate passing around the box.

We still have that in us, but Jose is not going to make it easy for us.

Such a negative style.

Yes we won on Thursday with the same team, but we played some positive stuff, it was enjoyable to watch.

This and the majority of stuff we’ve had to endure is awful, negative, boring stuff to watch. All it does is invite pressure.

I don’t get how some people can’t see that in this dire passive shite for what it is.

Poor tactics then. Need a back 4 with a midfielder protecting them rather than donkey Bennett.

we're only annoyed because of the dog shit performances against Watford, Brighton, Everton and Bournemouth

and that horror show is just since the restart !

Would some of you like us to revert back to the times where we treated the football like a hot potato?

I’m not sure we ever did that. Certainly in recent years.

But in answer to your question, whatever’s effective, this style certainly isn’t, if that style is then so be it.

People we’re quick to say “we were found out” in our old style, now I don’t wanna harp on solely (that’s exactly what I don’t want. I see a time and a place for this style but not very often and asking that we simply mix it up abit) playing that style however how long are people gonna go along with this negative, boring style that only invites pressure upon outselves before admitting “we’ve been found out”?

Can see why he went unchanged after our last game

The style isn't effective? This style has gotten us 5th ffs. I don't wanna compare us or our style to Man City but do you reckon Man City fans after the season they've had (and inparticular after defeats) are questioning the style of football?

Our style is sort of alien to us, and until we get used to it it will always be one of those things where when we're winning it's fine, when we lose it's rubbish.

Sheffield didn't present any goal threat so we could easily get away with it. The clues before that with Bennett were there to see. How successful has an unfamiliar back 3 been successful prior to that?

Nah. It this style has always rubbish. Is it honestly any different to Puelball? Hmmm slightly more positive perhaps.

We won on Thursday, we played well, we played positive (went a little negative in the 2nd half that game even).

5th is an achievement but let’s have some honesty, in reality we’re 5th because the rest of the league, the quality of the league is poor.
