Sheffield didn't present any goal threat so we could easily get away with it. The clues before that with Bennett were there to see. How successful has an unfamiliar back 3 been successful prior to that?

Our back 3 had more gametime together than the prospective back 4 has

It needs to be a quicker tempo.

Noooo slow it down, Chuck a few more sideways and backwards passes in if you need by all means.

Last time we got battered by Spurs we had a defensive injury crisis as well. This isn't unexpected in any way.

I miss watching us play counter attacking football though. So much more exciting than possession football. :(

in fairness possession football is only disappointing when you have players that can't do much with the ball

First half of the season Maddison and Youri made us tick, they played in the middle on the turn and passed forwards and then ran forwards.

We had the passing and the movement in the middle that this formation and style needs.

Without Maddison and with Youri either going off the boil or being played in a different way we just end up pissing about with it out wide and going side to side it's so easy to defend. As a result we end up committing men forwards creating pointless overlaps and leaving us open to counters.

Nah. It this style has always rubbish. Is it honestly any different to Puelball? Hmmm slightly more positive perhaps.

We won on Thursday, we played well, we played positive (went a little negative in the 2nd half that game even).

5th is an achievement but let’s have some honesty, in reality we’re 5th because the rest of the league, the quality of the league is poor.

Well we have more points with this style than with Puelball? Best style is the one that gets us the most points, if that was the most hideous hoofball going then im all for it, but these players are better than that. And your last comment is pathetic, you sound like those bitter fans that say we only won in 15/16 because nobody else turned up.

Such a negative style.

Yes we won on Thursday with the same team, but we played some positive stuff, it was enjoyable to watch.

This and the majority of stuff we’ve had to endure is awful, negative, boring stuff to watch. All it does is invite pressure.

I don’t get how some people can’t see that in this dire passive shite for what it is.

Gotta take in to account the opposition. This is typical Jose. Defensive masterclass, it you can call it that, with a comfortable scoreline.

I agree it's been negative but it's incomparable to Thurs with a side that didn't turn up.

Look at this second half, Spurs have barely tried because they're happy to sit back. Sheff Utd attacked second half chasing a goal and we took initiative to hit them on the counter.

I’d love next season to play a flat 4 of Justin, Morgan, Evans and Fuchs and just lump it up to Hirst for 90 minutes :)

Would some of you like us to revert back to the times where we treated the football like a hot potato?

What, like when we won the league?

Whereas the Sheff Utd performance makes me think that Brendan is the right man long term, that performance makes me think he's not. How can you expect to go to Tottenham and try to force the game against them with six serious players missing. Mourinho sucked Brendan in and spat him out. I doubt this simple fact would go unmissed by our players either.

Yeah. Like I mean sure if you think we can do that again and get 81pts in the process lets do it. Don't bloody think so though

I actually can’t wait for thIs season to end. 2020 had been a massive ball ache in more ways than the obvious.

think certain games, you need to be able to revert to a counter

we seem to have lost the ability to do that...

all too predicable

stop with the Stats did you watch the game, apart from the perez shot and vardy back hill and Gray freekick, the other 23 were insignificant

Shhhh.

Make more excuses, paint us in a better light.

Bloody talking negative, you're as bad as the football that being played. Tut.

Bit slow yes, but thought we were an ok watch. Watching Spurs is like sticking pins in your eyes.

Yes, they won and I would rather we have, but blimey they are incredibly dull.

We have a backline of Jonny Evans, Ryan Bennett, Wes Morgan, Luke Thomas and James Justin. We are going to concede against good teams...

Sums it up, it’s no wonder we’re struggling with that defence. We’ve just not got the squad to cope with injuries and suspensions.

You notice most of the teams that beat us playing on the fast counter, Villa, Norwich, Liverpool, Man City, Spurs, Chelsea and mostly down the sides where we are weakest. Like Mourinhio did, they allow us to have the ball, move our full/wing backs and CB's up and then dispocess and hit us on the break.

Rose tinted goggles to be honest. I don't miss the days of 30% possession and hoofing into the wings for Vardy to chase. It's much better watching Brendan's possession style, at least when we are able to be incisive.

Not only was it more exciting, it was more suited to the team.
We’ve evolved, but not to the point where we can move it around for 70+ mins and look like we’ll break teams down.
He either needs to buy players who can play this way, or change the way we play to suit what we’ve got.

Spurs had 30% possession against us today and hoofed it up very effectively to Son and Kane to chase.

Leicester 19/20 is the exact type of team that Leicester 15/16 was most effective playing against.
