When I was a kid, I would support pretty much any English (or Scottish) team in the European or UEFA cups. Even Forest and even Leeds.

 

However  I detest Man United and I really want them to lose this evening.  Villareal I'm fairly neutral about  I just want United to lose.

 

I'm wondering what changed?

 

Off the top of my head:

 

The teams back then were largely home grown, so it was a bit more us v them.

 

The media were not as biased towards the big UK based clubs during the season, so there was more goodwill towards them.

I don't think there's been any replays for VAR decisions, wasn't for the potential United penalty either.

He'll probably go and score the winner here but there's a serious argument for dropping Rashford from the Euro squad.

 

Been absolute muck tonight, and has been most times I've seen him recently

Wouldn’t drop him but he certainly wouldn’t be in the starting 11...

The're making do with what they have. Quality wise there's an enormous gap between the two teams and their bet is set-pieces from what I've seen.
