It's not the best kit ever but hideous is overboard. It's a pretty bland, inoffensive white kit with a bit of detailing.

I think that's where claret and blue started. Can't remember which club first had it (Villa maybe?), but I read they copied the colours from a room in a stately home that was decorated in brown and turquoise. I guess they thought brown wasn't right for a football kit so changed it. I don't think claret and blue works, really.
