Season Tickets

https://www.lcfc.com/news/1758561/202021-season-season-tickets-memberships-and-planning-for-the-return-of-supporters/press-release

Further to Government proposals relative to sporting events, the Club is working on the basis that supporters will be able to attend matches during the 2020/21 season and has developed a ticketing strategy flexible to operating at limited and full stadium capacity.

In devising an agile plan for the season ahead, the Club has focused on the following priorities:

- Maximising the number of supporters able to safely attend matches at King Power Stadium
- Minimising the up-front financial commitment from our Season Ticket Holders
- Providing fair and equitable access to available tickets for Season Ticket Holders and Members

Following the start of the 2020/21 Premier League season on the weekend of 12/13 September, we are currently working on the understanding that supporters may, subject to Government approval, be permitted to return to stadiums under limited capacity from the weekend of 3/4 October.

While some aspects of the return of supporters to Premier League games at King Power Stadium are still unknown, the Club felt it appropriate to share our working plans with supporters in the interests of transparency and to afford supporters some means of planning for the season ahead.

********************

SEASON TICKET HOLDERS

From 9am Monday 24 August, existing Season Ticket Holders will be invited to renew for 2020/21 for a fixed initial payment specified below. To begin with, renewals will only be available online via tickets.lcfc.com or over the phone by calling 0344 815 5000 (Option 1).

*Supporters in designated accessible areas in SK4, P2 or H1 and pitchside/platform areas.

The remaining balance of each Season Ticket will be due at a future date to be confirmed, once the number of home matches to be played at full capacity has been established. The remaining balance will be equal to a proportion of the ‘full’ Season Ticket price (based on the proportion of home matches taking place at full capacity during the 2020/21 season), minus the initial payment.*

Existing Season Ticket Holders will have until 5pm on Tuesday 8 September to submit their application for renewal.

Season Ticket Holders who are shielding, or who remain uncertain about attending matches once fans are initially permitted to attend on a limited capacity basis, will still be able to retain their Season Ticket for the time at which full capacity resumes by paying the same initial payment now.

When King Power Stadium is operating at a reduced capacity, Season Ticket Holders who have renewed for 2020/21 will be invited to apply to purchase matchday tickets through a ballot, on a match-by-match basis. The ballot will only be accessible to Season Ticket Holders that have renewed for 2020/21 by paying their initial payment.

Please note that Season Tickets currently on the Direct Debit scheme will not renew automatically, meaning Season Ticket Holders must renew by the deadline either online at LCFC.com/tickets or through the City Sales Centre on 0344 815 5000 (option 1).

* For these purposes, the ‘full’ Season Ticket prices for 2020/21 will be the same as those applicable to the relevant Season Ticket for 2019/20 (i.e. the proportion of the Season Ticket price actually payable for matches played at full capacity in 2020/21 will be calculated by reference to the corresponding full Season Ticket price for 2019/20), with the exception of accompanied Under-10s in the Family Stand.

********************

SEASON TICKET HOLDER BALLOT

For Premier League matches played at King Power Stadium with reduced capacity, Season Ticket Holders will be allocated 90 per cent of the General Admission tickets available. The other 10 per cent will be made available to Members.

Season Ticket Holders who have paid their initial payment will be invited to enter the Season Ticket Holder ballot for each game for which capacity is reduced. Successful applicants for the ballot in respect of any game will be invited to purchase a matchday ticket for the applicable fixture. Successful applicants will be unable to enter future ballots for subsequent fixtures until the beginning of the ballot “cycle” for the next group of matches.

The frequency with which a Season Ticket Holder will qualify to enter a ballot will depend on a number of factors still to be confirmed, including:

1. The number of 2020/21 Season Ticket Holders participating in the ballot process
2. The number of our Premier League home games operating under reduced capacity
3. The permitted capacity for each of those Premier League home games

The Club will provide further clarity on the ballot process as soon as more information is available. Fair and equitable access to tickets for all 2020/21 Season Ticket Holders and Members participating in the ballot will remain our priority.

Season Ticket Holders may choose those individual matches for which they wish to enter the ballot, but will be best placed to see the greatest possible number of matches if they enter all ballots for which they qualify. Season Ticket Holders that are more selective about the matches for which they apply run a higher risk of seeing fewer games while the stadium is operating at reduced capacity.

In order to ensure that as many supporters as possible can be admitted for each game under reduced capacity, Season Ticket Holders will NOT be guaranteed access to their normal seat during this time.

Group ballot applications will be accepted (up to a maximum of six), provided that the initial payment has been paid in respect of each such ticket. The ballot system will be programmed to select the optimal combination of group and individual entries to ensure stadium configuration maximises the number of tickets available. If a group ballot entry is successful, all Season Ticket Holders in that group will be deemed to have been successful and, the applicant will only be able to select a group of seats equal to the number in their application. Applicants will be asked to confirm at the point of purchase that their group complies with government guidelines relative to social distancing.

Season Ticket Holders in groups of more than six should contact [email protected] or call 0344 815 5000 (Option 1).

Each Season Ticket Holder ballot will take place approximately three weeks before the match to which it applies. Specific dates for Season Ticket Holder ballots will be released in due course. Successful applicants will be notified that they have secured the right to purchase tickets for the relevant match, in advance of sales commencing.

More information on ballots can be found in our Frequently Asked Questions document at www.lcfc.com/reducedcapacityfaqs. Confirmed ballot dates will be released in due course.

*All fixtures are subject to change and ballot dates will reflect any such changes.

MEMBERS

From 9am on Monday 24 August, existing Members will have the opportunity to renew for £35 for Adults and £25 for Under-18s up to 8 September. To begin with, renewals will only be available online via tickets.lcfc.com or over the phone by calling 0344 815 5000 (Option 1).

Members will have until 5pm on Tuesday 8 September to renew for 2020/21, after which time the Club will make an announcement on new Membership applications. Membership sales will be capped to ensure reasonable access to match tickets during the 2020/21 season while the stadium is at reduced capacity.

Existing Members will retain their existing Priority Points. These will then be frozen during the 2020/21 season. Priority Points for Season Ticket or Membership renewal will be added at the end of the 2020/21 season.

When King Power Stadium is operating at full capacity, Members’ access to matchday tickets will be allocated based on Priority Points as normal, but these will be frozen at the start of the season. No further Priority Points can be earned during the 2020/21 season, but existing Priority Points can be utilised IF home games are played at full capacity.

When King Power Stadium is operating at reduced capacity, Members will have access to at least 10 per cent of the General Admission tickets available, which will be allocated through a ballot. Such a ballot will be open to all Members who have renewed their Memberships for 2020/21, irrespective of Priority Points accrued.

Please note that Members currently on the Direct Debit scheme will not renew automatically, meaning Members must renew by the deadline either online at LCFC.com/tickets or through the City Sales Centre on 0344 815 5000 (option 1).

********************

MEMBER BALLOT

2020/21 Members will be invited to enter the Member ballot for each game for which capacity is reduced. Successful applicants will be invited to purchase a matchday ticket for the applicable fixture. Successful applicants will be unable to enter future ballots for subsequent fixtures until the beginning of the ballot “cycle” for the next group of matches.

The frequency with which a Member will qualify to enter a ballot will depend on a number of factors still to be confirmed, including:

1. The number of 2020/21 Members participating in the ballot process

Members may choose those individual matches for which they wish to enter the ballot, but will be best placed to see the greatest possible number of matches if they enter all ballots for which they qualify. Members that are more selective about the matches for which they apply run a higher risk of seeing fewer games while the stadium is operating at reduced capacity.

Group ballot applications will be accepted (up to a maximum of six) provided that the initial payment has been paid in respect of each such ticket. The ballot system will be programmed to select the optimal combination of group and individual entries to ensure stadium configuration maximises the number of tickets available. If a group ballot entry is successful, all Members in that group will be deemed to have been successful and, the applicant will only be able to select a group of seats equal to the number in their application. Applicants will be asked to confirm at the point of purchase that their group complies with government guidelines relative to social distancing.

Members in groups of more than six should contact [email protected] or call 0344 815 5000 (Option 1).

Each Member ballot will take place approximately three weeks before the match to which it applies. Specific dates for Member ballots will be released in due course.

********************

MATCHDAY TICKET PRICING

Match categorisations are yet to be confirmed as this will be based on potential changes to the schedule and displacement of fixtures. Further information on match categorisation will be released in due course.

********************

NEW SEASON TICKET APPLICATIONS

Due to the potentially unique nature of the 2020/21 season, the Club will not be accepting new applications for Season Tickets. This is to ensure reasonable access to match tickets for both existing Season Ticket Holders and Members while matches are played at reduced capacity. The freezing of Priority Points for the 2020/21 season will ensure Members currently first in line for available Season Tickets will remain so should they become available for 2021/22.

********************

TICKET SECURITY AND HEALTH SCREENING

All tickets allocated through the ballot will be strictly non-transferable and will include the attendees’ name. Attendees are requested to bring photo ID with them on a matchday as spot checks will be in place. Matchday tickets will be issued digitally and can downloaded to your mobile device. A print-at-home ticket can also be made available for those unable to access a mobile device. All purchasers will be required to confirm compliance with a new supporter code of conduct and relevant terms and conditions at the point of purchase, which will include a requirement for ticket holders to provide a COVID-19 self-certification.

Season Ticket cards and Membership cards will not be issued from the start of the 2020/21 season.

********************

UNDER-10 FAMILY STAND SEASON TICKETS

As we prepare for a season in which ticket availability will be more limited than it has ever been, the Club has a duty to all its supporters to maximise the availability of tickets throughout the stadium and to guard against non-attendance or misuse. Free Season Tickets for accompanied Under-10s in the Family Stand have become a particular area of concern in recent seasons and so, from 2020/21, these Season Tickets will be priced at a ‘full-season’ price of £25 for renewals.

********************

PRIORITY POINTS

Priority Points will be frozen during the 2020/21 season in order to ensure fair and reasonable access for all Season Ticket Holders and Members to tickets while matches are played at reduced capacity. As no new Season Ticket applications will be accepted for 2020/21, this will also secure the integrity of the priority system for a time at which new Season Ticket applications are accepted again.

Season Ticket Holders will earn Priority Points upon paying the balance on their Season Ticket once full capacity resumes and Members will earn Priority Points for renewing their Membership, but these will be added at the end of the season. No other Priority Points will be earned during the 2020/21 season, but existing Priority Points may be used by Members to access tickets in the event home games are played at full capacity.

********************

AWAY TICKETS

The Club is awaiting guidance from the relevant authorities relating to the possible attendance of away supporters at Premier League matches while stadiums are under reduced capacity. Further information will be published once it is available.

********************

SUPPORTERS WITH DISABILITIES

Supporters with disabilities will be able to apply to enter ballots via the means specified. Tickets for personal assistants will be issued as necessary when the applicable Season Ticket Holder is successful in the ballot.

Season Ticket Holders with disabilities who are aged Under-22 and 65+, registered with the Club and either utilise a wheelchair bay or sit in one of our designated areas in SK4, P2 or H1 will pay an initial fee of £20 to secure their 2020/21 Season Ticket and obtain access to Season Ticket Holder ballots while games are at reduced capacity. Apart from those groups specified, standard pricing will apply.

Season Ticket Holders that are shielding or remain uncertain about attending matches once fans are permitted will still be able to retain their Season Ticket for the time at which full capacity resumes by paying the same initial payment now.

********************

BOOKING FEES

For the 2020/21 season, booking fees for matchday tickets will be charged at £1.50 per transaction up to a maximum of four tickets. Transactions of five or more tickets will be charged at £2.50. Booking fees will apply to matchday ticket purchases made by Season Ticket Holders who secure matchday tickets via the ballot process, and by Members.

********************

HOSPITALITY LOUNGES AND EXECUTIVE BOXES

Hospitality Lounges and Executive Boxes are also likely to be at reduced capacity. Seasonal Hospitality clients will pay an initial fee of between £200 and £400, depending on the package they are signed up to and then match-by-match prices when successful in the ballot. Clients will be contacted by the Leicester City Hospitality team to explain the renewals and ballot processes for these areas. A limited number of matchday packages will be available.

********************

DOMESTIC CUP AND UEFA EUROPA LEAGUE MATCHES

As would apply to standard Season Tickets, the above process applies to Premier League matches only. The Club will issue further guidance for home cup and UEFA Europa League matches in due course.

Personally don’t see why members should be given any of the capacity. The only justification is because the club don’t want to lose the revenue from having a membership scheme.

They're still loyal customers and fans who just can't get an ST for whatever reason, there's a long waiting list.

90% is a higher proportion than I thought they would give us, makes just under 9k STHs per game at 30% stadium capacity i.e. two tickets every five games for each STH if everyone renews.

Season Ticket category 2020/21 initial payment
Adults, Seniors (65+) and Under-22s £70
Under-18s £30

Supporters with a disability in designated accessibility areas* (Ages 12-21 & 65+)

£20
Under-12s £10

Sounds ridiculous.

If we don't renew our ST for (the potential opportunity to pay full price for tickets in) 2020/21 am I right to assume we are at risk of not being able to renew in 2021/22? :S

I wonder how long they've had to attempt to write that. Still absolutely clear as mud.

Am I paying £70 to potentially not go to a game just to keep my ST?

I think so. They seem to be hoping it goes back to full capacity soon

So we pay the fee in the table and then apply to be in the ballot for matches, which are charged per match day

It assumes at some point in the season we’ll be having full capacity. If the doesn’t happen and you end up not going I presume they’ll subtract the difference from the 21/22 season

70 quid, and then what full price match day tickets at 30 odd quid I assume, so go to 11 games and its costing more than this years ticket, plus the prorata balance of whatever if any games are played at full capacity. So ticket could cost about 700 quid during a pandemic, nice.

Bit a fail this. I'd rather pay my normal direct debit. This will cost a bloody fortune.I assume the club must be broke.

Yeah I presume they’ll subtract the match by match price until you run out then you’ll have to pay as you go.

I mean I'm pretty certain they wouldn't subtract the difference in 21/22 based on the wording of the statement.

But chances are you won't get 10 games, you'll be lucky to get 4 or 5 in

I thought it was last years ST price decided by the number of matches as in pro rata.

UNDER-10 FAMILY STAND SEASON TICKETS

'Free Season Tickets for accompanied Under-10s in the Family Stand have become a particular area of concern in recent seasons and so, from 2020/21, these Season Tickets will be priced at a ‘full-season’ price of £25 for renewals'

What the hell does that mean? Who is concerned about free season tickets for under 10s?

They should do that imo.

I don't mind paying 70 but there is no guarantee of getting lucky to go to a game

I’ll help you with the “for whatever reason” - they didn’t buy one when demand was at a level anyone willing to stump up could get one. The great thing about a waiting list is it’s abundantly clear that if you’re on it, you probably weren’t trying to buy a season ticket before we reached the premier league.

Should those people be able to attend games ahead of someone who’s held a season ticket since we were in League One? No chance.

If I buy a day pass to Sky every now and then rather than a subscription, I’m not a ‘loyal customer’.

They've just had ****ing 50 million plus add ons from Chilwell now they're stinging me for £70 to sit at home and stream the games, bastardslol

EDIT: Because it's a ballot, does that mean that certain people could attend 20 games while others attend 0? Surely a better way of doing it would be applying for games and once you've hit say 5 you can't attend for another 3 or 4 games to let other people attend a couple.
