PNM Posted 2 September 2020 Posted 2 September 2020 (edited) Young Estonian striker. Di Marzio has us linked with Valencia and Inter Milan https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/oliver-jurgens-verona-inter-leicester-4480110 Edited 2 September 2020 by PNM
Ric Flair Posted 2 September 2020 Posted 2 September 2020 Reminds me of a lad I used to play U10's with, scored about 165 a season. Brutal stats they are in the Estonian league, what an absolute bagsman. 1
dmayne7 Posted 2 September 2020 Posted 2 September 2020 Pretty sure we were linked with him before or I at least recognise the name. Meant to be very, very good.
weller54 Posted 2 September 2020 Posted 2 September 2020 Difficult to know whether to stick or twist on this one.

Lesta2014 Posted 2 September 2020 Posted 2 September 2020 One for the 23s I’d guess, the next Raul uche? 1
Stevosevic Posted 2 September 2020 Posted 2 September 2020 Silly goal to game ratio even if it's only youth level.
Popular Post Pliskin Posted 2 September 2020 Popular Post Posted 2 September 2020 He will sign for Real no doubt, and then rot in their B team before being shipped off to Lanzerote FC. Young talents like him often get butchered by the super powers and then thrown away like a used johnny. 1 4

And often these prodigies are so good because they're just way bigger and quicker than the other kids their age and then everybody else slowly catches up. Stick on top the mentality needed to succeed and it's no wonder so many do nothing.
LCCFox96 Posted 2 September 2020 Posted 2 September 2020 Never heard of him but that's a spicy scorecard in terms of goals to games. If you can put up those numbers, even in youth football, you've got something about you. We could do a lot worse than rolling than dice and taking a punt on him for the Development Squad. Equally, he could do a lot worse than going with our academy set up, with a clearer pathway to first team football than some of the historically bigger clubs.
Ric Flair Posted 2 September 2020 Posted 2 September 2020 I was hoping this summer would see us increase our calibre of youth players now that our new training ground is on the horizon. Given the financial uncertainties of the coming years, this as always is an avenue worth pursuing. Hoping to see us take a share of the talent Belgian clubs seem to recruit at a young age, Genk alone have produced an XI of top xlass players in the last 5-10 years.
Pliskin Posted 2 September 2020 Posted 2 September 2020 He’s do so much more if he came to us. But unfortunately these lads just see the big clubs calling and get sucked in. Hiroke Abe will suffer the same fate unfortunately. It’s why I was so impressed Kramaric chose to join us, but then it went a bit tits for him.

Talent does well at genk because they offer youngsters first team game time which we're not able to offer. 3

Sly Posted 3 September 2020 Posted 3 September 2020 Freddy Adu Anderson Adriano Valeri Bojinov Antonio Cassano McCauley Christantus Sebastian Diesler Denilson Diego Royston Drenthe Wayne Harrison Michael Johnson Bojan Neil Lamptney Macheda Duncan Edwards Alexander Pato Lars Ricken Javier Saviola Lee Sharpe Ricardo Quaresma Ravel Morrisson Mario Ballotelli Alvaro Recoba Joe Cole Robinho Anthony Le Tallec Gianlugi Lentini Jack Wilshire Micah Richards Mario Gotze Yohan Gourcuff Giueseppe Rossi Abou Diaby Phil Jones Adnan Januzaj Some had decent careers but could have done better. Some had great potential but flopped. Some lost careers due to injuries or passed away. Some we’re overhyped by the football manager hype train. Some were flat track bullies in poor leagues, that couldn’t cut it at the top.

Joined Ajax youth academy I think, and was dubbed the next “pele” out of interest which players died? I know about lars ricken but that was post retirement. edit: Duncan Edwards of course 😞 Edited 3 September 2020 by turkish14
NewquayFox Posted 3 September 2020 Posted 3 September 2020 Might be wrong but wasn’t Vardy a prolific goal scorer in his younger days, this lad might have played a lot of his football in the lower leagues of Estonia and developed his strikers instincts but imagine if he had a couple of seasons learning his trade off the master...

CloudFox Posted 3 September 2020 Posted 3 September 2020 Looks like a wonderkid in the making...would be great if we can start signing up Youth players like this to complement our homegrown bunch. Also, pretty pleased to see us mentioned alongside Inter and Valencia as options for a player. Beats bloody West Ham and Everton! 1

I honestly think our training ground is what will peak these little fellas interest much more than before, and give us more of a chance of snapping them up. I really want us to become a conveyor belt of blistering young players, football tends to bore me these days and I get more enjoyment from seeing players break through without fear. 5

Some were flat track bullies in poor leagues, that couldn’t cut it at the top. Erling Braut Håland Cristiano Ronaldo Lionel Messi Ryan Giggs David Beckham Ronaldo Zlatan Ibrahimovic Gareth Bale Michael Owen Steven Gerrard Ashley Cole John Terry Rio Ferdinand Francesco Totti Just a few players who were hyped as youngsters and followed through and had/are having brilliant careers at the top level. It's always easier to say that a kid isn't going to make it at the top because most of them don't. Also the average career length of a professional footballer is only 8 years according to the PFA. Conversely, putting too much pressure on some of them can contribute to them never making it. But I can't understand why people aren't excited to see young players coming through and are on a downer about it, regardless of what club they play for and nationality they are. When Rooney scored that goal against Arsenal for Everton, I played that video back over and over again. This guy could be Erling Braut Håland or he could be Tomi Petrescu. Either way, it'd be exciting to find out, especially if he ended up on our books. 3
