Pliskin Posted 14 February 2022 Posted 14 February 2022 Dan was a disaster yesterday. We’re ****ed with him and Cags at the back, Cags is just a lunatic and Dan doesn’t know what he is doing himself. 1 1
Fazzer 7 Posted 14 February 2022 Posted 14 February 2022 It's quite simply really. DA CS JV are not good enough and should be moved on in the Summer. JE is nearing the end of his career and can't be relied on, that leaves WF and the the lad in the reserves. We need 2 quality central defenders. Either that or another season of inconsistency and mediocracy. 1

Quality players don’t sit on the bench for long at clubs like ours. Amartey was 5th choice at the start of the season, and overall he has done pretty well for me. 2

Dropping both of them then means a centre back pairing of Choudhury and Vestergaard....is that a CB pairing for the Premier League??? I still think we seriously messed up not getting a CB in on loan as that clearly is the position on the pitch where we are seriously failing Yes I can’t understand not getting a centre back in. Maybe the funds were not made available and the loans didn’t work out.

All of this comes back to a panic buy made late last summer.
seanymac Posted 14 February 2022 Posted 14 February 2022 He really went up in my estimation when he threw the Chelsea pendant across the room. I appreciate that level of disrespect towards these bigger clubs. He's very likeable Armatey but not the best admittedly. Goal against Forest probably sums him up but still I can't help but like him. 1

Who'd realistically be happy when everyone is fit to not be in the squad? Oh and also has the ability if we really needed to play right back or centre mid? Sorry, I meant bring in quality players to start. Both Amartey and Soyuncu shouldn't be starting. Evans has been quality but is getting on now. We need a quality centre half to come in and be our main starter. Edited 15 February 2022 by Fox92 2
Guest Col city fan Posted 20 February 2022 Posted 20 February 2022 Dear Dan A little tip… NEVER put a defensive header back across your own penalty area! It’s not a clever thing to do ALWAYS head it away from goal (eg out for a corner) Cheers… Col 👍

Guest Col city fan Posted 1 March 2022 Posted 1 March 2022 Credit where it’s due. Both Amartey and Cags superb tonight

CrispinLA in Texas Posted 1 March 2022 Posted 1 March 2022 Why did we waste 15m on Vestergaard, when we had Amartey. Amartey was brilliant today, really good at marshalling everyone and a good partnership with Soyuncu. We don't need Tarkowski in the summer, who I thought wasn't as good as people make out here.

Popular Post smudgerfox Posted 2 March 2022 Popular Post Posted 2 March 2022 I think Amartey is a valuable squad player who would be very difficult to replace - with more game time at CB he has improved a lot. When he first came into the team he couldn’t have expected to have been leading a back four as he is being asked to do. It seemed that his only position was on the right in a three or an on field tactical switch as fill in right back. He has never given less than his all and his inexperience has been exposed by the complete meltdown suffered by Soyuncu , the uselessness of Vestergaard, the lack of consistency at full back/wing back, the ineffectiveness of the defensive midfielders in front of him, the set piece frailty of our keeper and the generally poor defensive coaching.. As other posters have said - to bring in a squad player who is as willing, uncomplaining, as versatile and as effective would be difficult bordering on impossible. 17 1
