The issue there though is they'll be 3rd or 4th choice as well. We need a reliable impact player but they aren't that easy to find. The ideal player would be someone who can play wide left or through the middle but even im struggling for realistic targets. Jens Petter Hauge going to Milan for £4m has pissed me right off.

Benrahma?

RW/LW: Under, Barnes, Benrahma, Albrighton

ST: Vardy, Iheanacho, Perez

Hmmmm I just don't see us spending £25m on him or him being comfortable with the role of a squad player but I'd love him here.

Barnes/Hauge and Under/Perez would have been fantastic depth.

It's tricky. If Vardy gets injured, we're screwed. If he doesn't, we really don't need another forward. Iheanacho is ideal back up standard and Perez is effective there too. Barnes in a 2 would be promising as well.

More of an area to address next summer I reckon.

I think you are underestimating Iheanacho,

I think given a run in the side he would produce the goods.

Mandzukic is the one

He was offered to Manchester United but they rejected the proposal and have since gone for Cavani, he wouldn’t be a bad option to bring off the bench!

If Vardy gets injured the reality is we don’t have a replacement in a 4141 - we’d have to change the system and go two up front as none of Nacho, Barnes or Perez  are fit to play as anything other than second strikers.

The cold hard truth of it is we need a young striker to play and learn getting the last 5/10 minutes of games and slowly grow and develop or we need a superstar who’ll come on loan or just sign for a year who will be prepared to sit on the bench and play cups.

Still shitting it we could end up with Lingard in the dressing room if we don’t do either of the above but he’d be better than nothing.

Maybe Liam Delap at Man City is worth monitoring. Done well at youth level & is probably never going to break through ahead of Aguero/Jesus.

And this season,I am sure Nacho will Play more than  his fair share of games..The fixtures from now until after the Xmas-new year period,is crazy

It was a godsend that,we stumbled out of the Carabou-cup....Bigger clubs do have those bigger squads,we are new at this game...with a Top Quality Team giving

us these giddy higher aspirations

Nowhere near ready yet for me. I’m not sold on the hype in all honesty. Needs a season or three in a decent Championship side.

What I am seeing so far from this season is that goals are now coming from across the team and we are not just relying on Vardy. This is the perfect situation imo. I am pretty happy with the squad at the moment.

Can't wait to see Under and Fofana.

We’ve looked, but Rodgers is satisfied with the options we have if we don’t land a striker. The signing of Under will hopefully take the pressure off that department, mainly because of his ability to drive into the box, there won’t be aimless crosses constantly be thrown in for defenders to head away, so in theory Kalechi should benefit from this as would Perez, so I think we’re actually okay for now, gives us time to look for a proper Vardy replacement. I just hope that we look at AZ before little Myron gets snapped up by Real Madrid!

It's a difficult problem to solve. We need a top striker who knows he'll be sitting on the bench watching Vardy most weeks. How many strikers fit that criteria?

Iheanacho will never be a top premier league striker, but he's very capable of being Vardy's backup for the time being. When Vardy starts to slow down, that's the time to buy a new star striker.
