Not in this case but of course there could be multiple uses.
this is from my days working a the employment service (dole office/job centre). Subsidiary Occupation was a term for those who were claiming but had occasional part time work

That's such a gripping tale you could be mistaken for an accountant.

Of course not.

Because it's a naval term for anything that brings you good fortune, dating from the days when it was better to have wild and dangerous sea beasties in the vessel being tamed than outside attacking it.

Sub occ, of course, refers to the submarine octopus. To this day, no naval vessel goes to sea without a cephalopod on board.

In fact, in 1973 during a conflict off the coast of Guam, the captain of USS Typhon was replaced by Terry the Octopus on mental capacity grounds - becoming the first sub cap occ.

Sub occ, ladies and gentlemen.

phew.. now i know where my delivery has gone lol

Occasionally a term I’ve used in a previous job pops into my head and I wonder if anyone else would know what it means/have worked in same space

thought about starting a thread for a bit of fun but thought better of it.

anyway the term today was sub-occ if anyone wants to guess

In the world of football and especially Steve Cooper

Sub-stitutes

Occ-asionally

I like the cut of your jib but you should be keel-hauled for that.

I'm going to need enough grog until I'm 3 sheets to the wind.

Morphine is brilliant, it really helps when you've been in A&E for 12 hours. They should let you purchase extra top-ups though.

You certainly need morphine if you're in KGH.

Almost 14 hours waiting for a bed now, and it sounds like I'll still be here come 6am

Edit: morphine stops you being able to add 5 onto 12!

@DaggersWhere do we send the cards? lol

If you posted one from Oz to Kettering A&E I think there's a good chance I'll still be sitting here when it arrives.

I'm now on good terms with half the waiting room, we spent a lot of time together laughing at idiot convicts and saucy traveller ladies.

Everyone in the NHS deserves a hug and a kiss.

Next up, Daggers 18 hour wait for a solicitor in a cell at Kettering police station.

Edit:  Also hope you get well soon of course.

If you've never seen Threads, you should watch it.

It's dated, of course, but it has held up brilliantly.

It really is expensive to post with Royal Mail now.

Two price increases in a year, I read a first class stamp is approaching £2. Knock on effect is charities who rely on the post for Christmas cards for example. I'd encourage anyone to drop a tenner off at your chosen charity this Christmas even if you don't want any cards. Fvck the Royal Mail

People are probably bored of the discussion around it but 99% of the people arguing against xG just don't understand it.

They'll end up disappearing one day, I'm sure of it.

I genuinely don't understand why people still don't get it. I wonder if the term "expected goals" name puts people in Richard Keys mode and if it was called something else people would be more on board.

Im not trying to antagonise... but rather than not understand... im more interested in why people care about it?

It seems to just be a modern version of "we won possesion though" :)

its irrelavant as the only statistics that matter are goals scored and conceded
