I'm just debating if I should get out of bed for a wee or wait till morning.

What did you decide in the end?

Yeah yeah we all love David Attenborough but what's his carbon footprint from all these wildlife shows over the years?

Planet murderer!!!!

Trouping the Colour. I never cease to be amazed how impressive British military pageantry is. Irrespective of your Royal opinions, the military parades are a spectacular operation.

The last couple of months I have felt SO tired. Like off the scale levels. Every day, like I'm being sucked down to the ground. A lot of other people have been saying they feel the same (although I may just be registering that more because of how im feeling!). Anyone else? Any suggestions? X

Go to the docs mate as could be many things. At least a trip could rule out things like low iron or thyroid issues so you can look at other things.

Yes, as other have said, just get yourself checked out. Likely be a weight of your mind whatever the doctor says.

A month of that without getting better is a sign that you need to go speak your GP who can check you over, talk through your symptoms, and get a blood test. Excessive fatigue could be something as simple as iron levels, as uncommon as a sleep disorder, or as serious as heart disease or worse.

Don't mess about with your health, or shrug it off as so many men do, go and get yourself checked out asap.

Real issue with these is actually getting an appointment, it can be so challenging to even see or speak to a doc/nurse that you do tend to let things go.

Family member was in hospital recently, doc was annoyed that they hadn't gone to the GP sooner, simple answer was they couldn't get an appointment to see anyone.

Yeah it's an issue. My surgery has an online booking system but it's usually at least 7-14 days wait. You just have to brave the phone system and insist you get seen asap.

I went to a private GP in London last year, cost 80 pounds. Diagnosed a chest infection and gave me antibiotics after a month and a half of trying to see NHS GPs who basically told me it was a bad cough and nothing to worry about yet. Best money I've spent.

And agree with the general sentiment about seeking help where needed here, but it's true that it can be difficult to get seen in anywhere near a timely fashion right now.

I agree with everyone about seeking medical advice.

I would add that the world has never been more terrifying and the psychological and emotional toll is enormous.

And this is exactly why the ambulance service and A&E are so overburdened.

The problem lies with demand at source.

Since the GP's went off radar during the pandemic, everything changed regarding getting a face to face consultation.

Tbh, this is across the board since covid.

You could do internet banking during lockdown?

Fine, no more need for branch offices!

You could work from home?

Great, no more need for offices.

You could speak to people on screen?

Great, no more need for in person services.

You got by with 30 staff cos 10 of your usual 40 are safeguarding?

Great, 30 staff it is then.

Customer service across the board, especially for the elderly and disabled, is going the way of the dodo.

Yep, I would agree with all of that.

Include in that, social services and community psychiatric services doing welfare checks with their clients and getting updates by phone.

Totally agree. Our local surgery was closed in the afternoon last Wednesday for staff training. I also know its a regular occurance for there to be no doctors actually in the surgery. My step-mum also went to collect a prescription on christmas eve but the doctor hadnt signed it so the pharmacist wasnt able to give her the medication, luckily she had enough to last until it was sorted. My dad has had to call upon 999 a few times in the last 6 months or so and the people who come out have been absolutely brilliant but as soon as they ask who is your local doctor and we tell them they have all said it is one of the worst in the area and even they really struggle to get a response using their own 'back door' phone number
