As far as I can work out he's the only one of the back 5 that hasn't made a mistake directly leading to a goal. HE'S SHIT GET HIM OUT WHY DID WE GIVE HIM A NEW DEAL ON LOWER WAGES!

He's got away with a few similar to Choudhury against Wrexham.

Apart from assisting the winning fa cup goal …

Doesn’t stand out in my mind but I’ll concede defeat on that. Still, the decline/distinct lack of development is massively disappointing.

What people Need to remember with all

of our players, is that we are not a team competing for the top Six in the Premier League.

That is frustrating I know.

However we are 3rd in the division for a reason and that reason is we have better quality played than most of the other teams. If we had a forward who was a natural goalscorer, I’d hasten to say we’d actually be top.

Now when you consider this, the likes of Thomas, Vestergaard, Faes, Winks, Skipp, Soumare and Daka, will be better and good enough to see us operating at the top end of the Championship.

I mean come on, when people go on about, "yeah but his assist" - OK technically it was an assist, but in reality it was a run of the mill 10 yard pass in the middle of the pitch, sideways. Hardly a defense splitting or over the top through ball. Let's face it. He's awful. League 1 standard at best. We're just not that blessed in the left back department but if you compare him to other left backs in this league, he'd be relegation level.

If this is the case, you should have no problem naming the 21 better left backs in this league then?

Because you watch other left backs against Leicester and other games and think they are better than Thomas you must know and remember all their names? What type of logic is that?

If we signed him on a 4 year deal from a L1 team where he was doing well everyone would be saying, exactly the right type of player, room to improve etc.

He's not improve in 4 years, why is he going to start now.

He also getting a lot more wages then a player coming from L1.

I get people liking him as his a leicester lad but Hamza being a better fullback as a convert CM at RB tell you all you need to know.

Players can still develop you know, he's also not exactly played week in week out during that time has he.

I’m making the point that saying he is league 1 standard or relegation standard implies there are 21 better left backs in this league or if you want to put it another way, there must be 20/21 clubs in this league for who Thomas couldn’t get into the side for. Both those things are over exaggerated hyperbole based on the bashing he constantly receives.

He is limited, I don’t think he is best suited for what Marti wants from a full back, but he is adequate quality wise for this league.

There’s a couple such as Leif Davis and Harrison Burrows that I thought would be the stand outs but particularly Sheff Utd are struggling massively and Ipswich aren’t doing great. The only stand out I have noticed is Small at Preston. Coventry are on fire but Dasilva their left back really

struggled against us and was booked.

Matt Targett? Ryan Manning? Aaron Creswell? These are all other left back options in this league.

Can’t believe I’m saying it but he’s been the most reliable of all of the back 5 plus Okoli and Choudhury… Reliable Ricky has had more scares than Luke this year.

For me he’s nailed down the role this year and just got on with his game quietly… no giving the crowd stick, no bringing his dog to training, no sulking, and no Aunties coming on here to defend the indefensible. Looks like he’s enjoying his football and his attitude has been brilliant.

Left backs against us are coming up against arguably the best player in the division in Fatawu, even then a lot done relatively OK. If Thomas came up against Fatawu or someone of that standard he'd be a deer in the headlights, like he was against Coventry but worse.

Honesty, I think he looked better when he made his debut 5yrs ago. He used to have a very good cross on him. Since then to now, he's made little to no progress. Marginally better defensively but has no offensive game, no pace or athleticism, and both our CBs are better on the ball.
