As others have said, he looks scared on the pitch which is surprising, as he had a good end to last season and looked visibly more aggressive. That cruyff turn was almost a cry for help, get me off the pitch because I dont know what I'm doing. Do the club still employ a sports psychologist?

Couldn’t agree more with this. He should have been taken out of the side a few games ago, before one of the worst individual defensive performances I’ve seen in years.
He simply cannot start the next game.
I don’t care if we don’t have a decent natural left back replacement. If it’s not Kristiansen then Marti needs to use someone else out of position like he did at Millwall.

I've said for some time he's never been the same since the game in the cup vs. Blackburn when he basically should've been dragged off WITHIN the first half as he was that awful. Looked like a lost toddler had run onto the pitch.

He basically made intermittent appearances after this then was shipped off to Boro and Sheff Utd where he seemingly didn't fare much better.

There's definitely a pattern with him. He's fine for a while and seems to get a bit more confident then he forgets how to be a footballer completely for a game, puts in a Sunday League performance and it's back to square one. Rinse and repeat.

Needs dropping for his own sake.

Mistake at hull leaving his man at back post, Sunday league stuff!

Followed up by being the wrong side of his man on Saturday & giving the ball away for their penalty.

Never have I seen a more uncomfortable player at this level.

I'm glad someone else remembers that. It was an extraordinary performance for a professional. Without any exaggeration, he played like I would've done had I been asked to fill in. Terrified of the ball, went hiding, and appeared not to know where to stand looking pleadingly at his colleagues to help.

The other game that sticks out was Brighton away , 6-2 or whatever it was. Only Ward's own performance overshadowed LTs, which was as bad as Saturday and Blackburn.

I've never seen him actually look comfortable as a player, he always looks like he's in panic mode. Something you never want from a fullback.

Neither does he offer anything in possession.

The definition of playing well is seriously getting downgraded on this forum. Just because he wasn't as abhorrent as usual doesnt mean that he played well.

Exactly this. He was a 5/10. That's his absolute max..an off game for any normal player.

I'd be like Enzo in that he wouldn't make the 25 man squad,.let alone the bench, let alone emergency cover, let alone the first choice.

He varies between 0/20, averages 2/10 and peaks at 5/10. No sane manager would touch him.with a bargepole. Enzo wouldn't. Chris Wilder wouldn't. Michael Carrick wouldn't

So you don’t think he put 2 great balls into the box 1 st half, one of which Okoli should have scored? He did alright tonight- glad for him and let’s just give him a bit of credit

Give Aluko a go or sign a new left back in January

We cannot persist with him as our first choice left back

Weak, Always out of position, and just a poor footballer

Played well today up against their danger man.

Indicates how far we have fallen when he’s seen as acceptable and gets a new contract.

His method of defending is to wonder where the ball is once he's been skinned or get the wrong side of his man then fall into him and his approach to attacking is to play that 45 degree backward pass

Definitely not the answer for the next four years

Targeted by Stoke today. We got the win in spite of him not because of him
