He just looks uncomfortable in and out of possession. No confidence and limited ability isn’t a good combination. Whoever signed off on his recent deal ought to be embarrassed.

His off field antics others have alluded to already - the less said about the the better.

I'm from Syston so naturally I want to fight his corner but he runs after a winger like I run after the number 6 to East Goscote when I've finished my shift at Five Guys

(Disclaimer I've never worked at Five Guys in town)

A half decent post and then you lost all credibility by saying this.

Been going since late 80s. Only one I can remember possibly being worse and so out of his depth is Lee Marshall. However, we didn’t have to put up with him for anywhere near as long.

No confidence, no pace, no strength, poor in the air and this has ALWAYS been the case. Somehow miraculously managed to have a couple of decent games up against Salah so people forgot.

Hoffenheim wanted him so rather than do the right thing, we gave him an improved four year contract. It’s baffling. He’s the worst full back we’ve ever had.

Looks like my P.E Report this

Over the last couple of decades for sure!

It doesn't matter how long you've been going, if you think Thomas is worse than Michael Ball, Ryan McGivern or Hossein Kaebi you are wrong.

Ha ha ok I’ll give you Kaebi.

How about worst ever regularly starting full back? That is Luke in my opinion. Just can’t believe how many games he’s playing and we’ve literally got nobody better to take his place. If you’re the opposition Manager, you target him from the off. Depressing stuff

I don’t even remember seeing Ball play for us. Remember him being a decent player earlier in his career though

The truth is Luke Thomas has been carried by Soyuncu, Fofana, Prime Ricardo, Prime Ndidi and Prime Tielemans for most of his career.

There is no hiding now for him and you see how bad he really is.

Sell him in January and bring a LB in. Play Aluko in the meantime.

Those of us ancient enough to remember (ooh aah) Nicky Platnauer would also include him in the worse than Thomas category.

Let’s just say he likes the casino and the pub.

Like many other footballers?

A few have said about this guy's life away from football on here, but if the club had concerns about his public behaviour they would've brought it up with him.

They would if they cared...

I think McGivern was probably worse, but not tonnes in it, which is damning because I thought McGivern was hilarious.

He is awful but no where near the worst full back we have ever had

He was awful yesterday. Genuinely looked like was playing with a stinking hangover some of the brain dead decisions he was making. Looked a walking red card too

And that was still better than any performance Victor Kristiensen has ever put in for us

We have a truly terrible set of fullback. Ricardo aside, but even his ball retention yesterday was as bad as I’ve ever seen it.

It’s been a problem area for years, our fullbacks actively hinder our wingers at times. They give them zero support and they don’t even have the game to be able to. In the modern game where you need to be fit, athletic and technical we’ve either got broken players (Ricardo) or brain dead players who are poor on the ball (Thomas, VK, Hamza)

It’ll be interesting to see what we do on Tuesday. Thomas is banned, VK is injured, Ricardo won’t be able to manage a second 90 minutes in 3 days. Perhaps Aluko will finally get a chance, I hope to god he takes it and makes left back his own for the rest of the season
