Just like with ward and Justin last season, he needs dropping for his own mental health.

It’s not going to get better for him. The manager needs to just accept that he’s not good enough.

nothing aluko could do would be worse.  I can accept conceding some silly goals from errors if the player has promise. I’ll accept them from Nelson as he develops but there’s nothing to gain from Thomas. He’s unfortunately just a league 1 player and shouldn’t be anywhere near this team.

Can't disagree with that.

It gives me no pleasure to say it, but the gig's up for Thomas.  He is the Danny Ward of full backs.

I’ve heard from someone that knows him that criticism doesn’t affect him. No idea how true that is at the minute when he’s getting ripped to shreds week in week out though.

I caveat this observation  that I choose to ignore body language evidence for Faes, who many claim 'looks arrogant' - which to me is an absurd basis to castigate someone.

However, I do take some visual clues with Thomas. He looks embarrassed to be there. As did Ward. You can see his relief when he just about manages to do something right (remember his clumsy touch that accidentally set up bib Reid for a long range goal?)

That panicked contorted back angle pass to his centre half to 'get rid of it'. That horrific arm stretch rugby tackle as he desperately tries to catch up with an opponent. And, I watch for this every game, Stephy never, EVER passes to him. I guess he knows it is a complete waste of time.

You've gotta feel for the lad. It's cruel. Part of management is protecting staff, not just issuing instructions. As you say, for his own well being, he needs taking out of this.

We need to recruit a left back to see out the season, but don't bet on it.

It's painful watching him play on a regular basis.

It's clear for us all to see that he is not at the level required.

Must do his confidence good to be dropped and see other useless players playing out of position to cover him.

Who cares? He’s worse than all of them. And by quite some distance, too. When will everyone realise??

Nelson did ok and he’s definitely not useless.

Just read that ManUre youngster Harry Amass, a left back, has ended his loan at Sheffield Wednesday and is now expecting to go on loan to Norwich City for the rest of the season. We should be looking at players like him. Literally any available Championship experienced left back still playing at that level is a better option than Thomas.

Another that needs to be moved on, He's gone stale here and needs a fresh challenge. Living the good life is catching up with him.

He was offered to Syston town, but they turned him down as he wouldn't even get on their bench
