I can’t get over that foul he committed near the corner flag.

He is constantly shoving players in the back. I'm convinced it is because he has such little football prowess that it is the first thing that comes into his head.

Either that or he has got one of his mates to put a bet on for him as to how many fouls he will commit. Wouldn't surprise me given the rumours about his gambling.

Absolutely idiotic thing to do, I remember saying such at the time. It gave a free kick away in a dangerous position, we never really got the ball clear & it lead to a goal.

I just cannot stand watching him, he is truly awful

I believe this was the moment that precipitated our total collapse last night. He cannot be trusted to do the basics like stand up his man. Needs dropping for good.

Just think 3 more years, it's so depressing. Hopefully, if we ever get a decent manager, he will see how pathetic & weak he is & will try to get rid of him. Sadly we know no-one will buy him so I think we'll just keep sending him out on loan & probably having to foot his wages.

I’m in full agreement with the criticism for his second half…. Am I alone in thinking he played well in the first 45??

In the second half they continually targeted his side, a tactic they surprisingly didn’t do so much in the first half, despite how bad we know we are defensively on the left. In that first 45 Kingy got Thomas to bomb forward with Winks covering his position and that created an overload which tbf was really effective. Thomas had less defending to do and Fellows ended up trying to cover his attacks. As soon as Southampton switched it up and targeted our left and Thomas had to defend against some quality in Matsuki, he folded. Tbh he got absolutely ripped apart. He just hasn’t got anywhere near enough defensive quality at this level. VK has to be given the time in the first team now that Thomas has had. He’s not ideal but he’s better than Thomas.

Always been better going forward than defending, makes a better Wing back than out and out fullback.

We needed to bring Aluko and Kristensen on early in the second half. Thomas and Pereira simply cannot handle direct wingers running at them.

Yet he keeps being selected. Weird

Quite a few posters have mentioned on this thread before now much luck is involved in football. I think Like Thomas is the strongest example ever.

He was a nobody youth team player that got called up to a PL game courtesy of the seasonal Rodgers injury crisis. It happens all the time. 2,3 games never to be seen again. Released. Goes to Nuneaton, released, goes to Oadby. Fades away and retrains as an electrician..That was his destiny.

But fate intervened. Jonny Evans coached him through to 10 games. Evans was a known talker/moaner on the pitch. He could probably talk me or you to a semblance of a decent game.

All of a sudden, 10 games in he's part of the squad. And vaguely useful as a filler for the European squad homegrown rosta.

He's up to 20 games..

And he's got a career. Pure happenstance and luck. They'll be youth team players who pissed all over him every training session currently working shifts at Amazon wondering what the hell happened

Great post mate.

To top it off, didn’t we prioritise Thomas as our “next LB” over Bassey?

Imagine seeing both and thinking that Thomas is the one with the greater potential 🤯

How many times has he just switched off in games? The other week when he was the wrong side of the Charlton lad for their 2nd goal just highlights how much of a dimwit he is.

As for his strength, when you are getting outmuscled by the lightweight Cov winger, it says it all.

Worth a 4 year deal though for Rudkin, given to him to stop him joining Anstey Nomads.

What are you talking about? Whenever he crosses the half way line he passes backwards

Nomads have just signed Jack Colback who funnily enough would do a better job at left back for us lol

That horrific angled inverted pass back to his centre half (who has to spend all game watching out for him and being available for that godforsaken pass)

Jonny Evans could do it. Vestergaard tries to but fails. A scandal that Ben Nelson, four years his junior has to.
