Benko will do just fine , we can look at Kabak in a couple of years.

Depends on Evans, Rodgers had said we may need to get another centre back.

Surely it’s the experience as well as the position he would want to replace

Probably, but possibly Kabak on a free might be something the club feels is too good to turn down

How can they cancel his contract and avoid paying what they owe him??

surely that can only be done with his agreement ………I guess the fact they won’t get a fee means he can get a bigger salary/s o fee which he will be fully on board with.  Schalke defo have been screwed over by his agent here …..

Palace don’t need him now they have signed Andersen, it was one or the other

They signed Guehi from Chelsea as well and even though their squad needed a massive refresh I doubt they'd be going after three first team centre backs in one window

I guess the player and the club agreed on an amount they'd both be happy with as compensation.

I disagree that Schalke will have been screwed over. They didn't have to release him if he's still under contract.

I assume they must have come to an agreement of some kind but if the player’s agent realises that they can’t afford to pay his client then he can sort of go for the jugular ….

Have Schalke got any wingers they can gift us an'all?

I mainly want us to sign a winger for your own sanity.....and the success of the team. 🤣

If they terminate his contract, half of Europe will line up to offer him a free transfer. Might take ages for him to decide and wind up somewhere.

Hahaha part of me wants us not to as the vitriol on here will be something else.

Sowah could be the answer to ours prayers but it looks a tall ask this season and with AFCON we are going to be vulnerable with a transfer window we are horrendous at operating in. We must therefore get the players we want this month, even if we have to push it.

Awesome, no more worries for me about loaning a CB, just get one for free! Time to buy berardi and have a cuppa-T

I can only see us getting a player if we let a couple go.

We need to get letting. Charm offensive to certain clubs to get Hamza, Ghezzal and Praet (sadly) out. Amartey can go an'all and keep Big Benk.

If we got Kabak (for practically nothing). Can the owners/club shell out for a Berardi type signing until players are sold? Or would that require funds being put into the club by the owners? If it happens that way. Curiosity and all...

Baring in mind most transfers are paid in instalments over a few years, I'm sure they'd be able to manufacture something. With FFP relaxed it makes little sense to go with a loan and obligation to buy next summer if it then seriously limits spending the following summer when the rules might be tightened once again. If they are going to push it at all, this is the summer to do so, I'm not so sure they will.

OK thanks for that 👍.  I'm not sure of Sassuolo's financial predicament but from the look of it they don't exactly need to sell. Cheers.
