Agree.

Also lacking Pompey v Saints and Cardiff City v Swansea, both of which have historically placed a ban on away fans attending the fixture.

They’ve missed some big ones. Think we’ve made it on because it’s Lineker and we’re playing them soon, because otherwise it’s not making it on, Forest vs Derby probably wouldn’t have either.

I always got the impression Wolves / WBA disliked Villa more than they disliked each other.

I know it's a derby but I've just never seen it as that big a rivalry tbh. Always thought Villa were public enemy No1 for the lot of them

Baggies and Villa hate each other quite a lot. A lot more than we hate Villa.

Us and WBA are still the main rivalry, it's just that we haven't spent very much time in the same division in the past few decades so it's not as intense for the recent generation.

Villa v Blues and West Brom v Wolves  are the big ones by a distance.

Villa don’t like West Brom but don’t really care about Wolves

Blues don’t like Wolves but don’t really care about West Brom

Nobody cares about Cov.

Edit : Sunderland really hate Cov 😂

The distance thing is misleading because most West Brom fans live in the Black Country well over the M5

All jokes aside and I know the one is included for the cup match but if they were going to pick an East Midlands derby match up based on the Premier League then surely its Leicester v Derby?

We've played Derby more in the premier league and had far more memorable games with them, I cant remember a single magical moment or what from a premier league Derby v Forest or Leicester v Forest.

If you've been to a Villa vs Birmingham game, you will see why all the 'East Midlands rivalries' are a complete farce.

Lucky to get a ticket with a Birmingham fan in the away end at Villa Park a few years back, game was a terrible 0-0, but the atmosphere was incredible, and outside the ground, it was very very spicy.

Derby have only played Forest in the PL 4 times. Notts Forest have played us 6 times in the PL.

I would have been at all 6 of those games, but like you say, I can’t think of a single magic moment.
The only memory I have is when we played them at the City Ground on the last day of the season and they were already relegated. We lost 1-0 and they all ran on the pitch at the end giving it the bigun.

94/95 lost 1-0 lost 2-4 (they finished 5th that season I think)

96/97 drew 0-0 & 2-2

97/98 won 3-1 & lost 2-0

All off the top of my head

We didn't play them 97/98.

98/99 we won 3-1 at home and a 0-1 defeat away on the last day of the season (Forest's last Premier League match to date)

I think they finished 3rd in 94/95. I only remember that because clubs were in the order they finished in the next season's sticker album lol

I think that David Lowe scored in that 2-4 and Woan for them (and I had a nice little chat with a NottsF fan in the Double-Decker)

Only remember as I was there and it was Kamark's last appearance for us.

Forest were about to be managerless and there were rumours going around that they were after O'Neill despite being relegated. Their fans were singing 'Martin's coming home'

We definitely lost 1-0 at the city ground on the last day of the season one year - Chris Bart—fooking-Williams got the only goal!

I think we finished top 10 and they went down though so not all bad.
Cracking away day that was including being escorted to the ground as then Notts manager Ron Atkinson was leaving a hotel.
We may have had a word or two to say to him 😂
