Nice goal.
 

Alves really showcasing his talent tonight. Some great dribbles, passes and link up play. 

Doesn’t shy away from his defensive duties either.

Popov is ruthless, fantastic progression from plenty of them this season. McGuinness will be very happy.

 

Alves seems to be getting stronger in recent months, still wonder how close he is to being 1st team material, Rodgers alluded to him having the ability already but not the physicality which seems to be increasing.

He’s certainly improved his physicality. His defensive work rate has been excellent.
 

There’s been numerous times he’s tracked runners into our own box, challenged for second balls, headers, etc. Really surprised by his all round performance playing as a CM tonight.

When did McGuinness start Ric? I’d no idea we had him on board! He’s a bit of a football manager favourite staff member of mine 😂
