...if you are not going to play to his strengths then what is the point in playing him!!!

Your assessment that he has been poor in games has come about due to him being hamstrung due to what he has been asked to do. You cannot judge him fairly unless he is playing in the role that suits him.

I see him as an attacking midfielder, capable of playing in the hole or even a second striker. The KDH that we all watched in the U23s grew up, all he wants is an opportunity to prove it.

Not sure KDH was a CAM for the U23s, when I watched both him & Thomas were pretty settled CM’s both taking the ball off the back line and trying to play forward & get forward when they could. Might of just been the few games I seen tho. I’m not worried about KDH’s ability at all, think he’ll get his chance and will do fine.

He's not a good enough player to build a team around him, he has to fit in where he's needed.

....not asking for a team to be built around him, he can deputise as an #8 alongside Soumare or ahead of Soumare!!!

A player who less than intermittently is given the opportunity to play, and is played widely removed from the position that suits his attributes should not be labelled as poor.

He's obviously not shown enough in training that they'd drop a current first teamer for him. It's up to him to prove his worth, not the club to find a place for him.

....he did play CM, the point is he is no longer that player, but we seem to be driving him back into that mindset!!!

As I have said before, I would rather see him leave this club than to have him sitting on our bench, he is much better than that, he is a more mature professional.

That is not his best position at all. He's a box to box midfielder. I'd like to see him in a 4-3-3 with Ndidi and Tielemans and I'm co fident he'd start to prove his worth.

I agree to an extent but he was never going to come in and start (unless he had an absolutely mind blowing pre-season). As the season progresses I’m sure he’ll get the opportunities and I’m sure he’ll do well. He’s an important squad player.

KDH and Luke Thomas have been getting lots of the "not ready/not good enough" comments this week, in the same manner as Barnes and Chilwell got over the last few years every time they had a bad game. Turns out we didn't need to loan them out everytime they made a mistake, and loaning somebody back into the championship after they've already proved themselves at that level will be more likely to damage their confidence than improve them as players. Consider that if Thomas had pulled his second half shot a tiny fraction less to his right against Arsenal, or KDH had put a tiny amount less power or been half a foot further forward when he hit the bar against Brighton, and they'd both be goalscoring heroes getting pat's on the back and we'd be all hyping up our bright future. Small margins between success and failure.

He played defensive midfield for the majority of his time at Luton or in centre midfield.

He was mainly an "8" at Luton, usually alongside or in front of a more defensive player

I wish Hamza got the same level of defending by some on here as KDH. there's a huge amoubt of recency bias going on.

Hamza has played a hell of a lot more games for people to judge him on its a false equivalency

Hamza has had 75 appearances across 5 seasons to allow people to form an opinion on, KDH has had 7 appearances in 3 seasons.

Bit of a difference.

And why might that be?

Because at a younger age one was more highly rated than the other, but that "hype" doesn't always carry into the rest of their careers does it?

People don't defend Hamza as much because we have seen him play for us for 5 seasons so people have been able to better form a definite opinion on him

Where as most people would like to see KDH play more than a few games in his time at Leicester before they form a definite opinion on him, and most of those who followed him keenly during his time at Luton, and probably those who heard how well he did in the Championship, think he is worth more opportunities than he has had so far.

This is a wild hill to choose to die on, but you go for it my guy

KDH hasn't been in and around the first team really until this season, whether that's because he wasn't super highly rated before his standout loans is largely irrelevant really - some players thrive when given more opportunities out of youth football and KDH seemed to have done that on loans and now being kept around the squad. Hamza was certainly more highly rated coming through the academy - see the Barca links at one point, and had games a while back where he looked great - however in 75 games he has never really staked a claim for a starting berth and I don't think there are many people who would disagree that that's the right decision based on watching him over the course of many years. Which isn't to say he's a bad player, just one that doesn't seem to quite be able to live up to his touted potential.

For all we know, KDH may never push on in the same way, he may not ever really thrive here and may move on without having much of an impact - he hasn't exactly been electric this season, definitely. However, it's unarguable that he has had 3 starts and one sub appearance this season - and that's definitely not nearly enough to form a fully-fledged opinion on him and call him rubbish as you seem desperate to do. Not every player will instantly find their niche in the team or play a blinder as soon as they come in - see Nacho for a recent example - so the fact you seem to want to slag KDH off after 3 games is honestly quite mental given the precedence of other players at the club.

The point is, we need academy graduates in the squad. According to some , Barnes is the only one who should be there. We have already fielded teams this season with no graduates. This is unsustainable. A vast improvement on this is needed in the coming seasons.

He's a bit of a deep lying playmaker, right?
