Really, source?

I remember there was some stuff swirling around summer of 2020 when McNeil was looking to be sold as he was going for rather a lot for a 20yr old that hadn't done anything, something like £40m wasn't it with Dyche being very vocal.
It came out that Dyche had this clause, i admit it might be all garbage but apparently its not unheard of just like the crazy €1bn release clauses the European teams put on youngsters theres all sorts tied up in contracts that we're not privy to.

i'm sure a quick google will bring something up

If its true then he's not been very good at trying to take advantage of such a benefit/bonus scheme. His track record of bringing players through their academy is absolutely horrifying.

Until Dyche gets hold of them....... although if he can get the 'development clause' he has in his Burnley contract into a new Leicester 1 he'll be rubbing his hands all the way to the bank.
He currently receives 5% of sale price on any academy player sold.

...if that is true, is that a way to receive payment where tax is not applicable, or applicable a a very lower rate!!!

All sounds very creative.

So Sean sells Dwight to Leicester for some daft bonus development wedge, becomes our manager and laughs his gravelly tits off?

Shows that he cares more about the team than himself.  He'd rather keep hold of a key player than make some dosh, fair play.

It might have been his way of having more of a say over who leaves.

He seems to be taking it to the extremes as Dwight McNeil is the only player he's brought through the academy the entire time he's been there, quite possibly the single worst record out there surely. Hideously bad for the game.

Definitely, but it’s probably because of their style of play. There aren’t many youngsters that are built ready for that at a young age.

Their catchment area should be good, Blackburn used to bring some good player through. You’d think they would have sneaked the talent over them in the last 7 years.

Yes, he possibly gets overlooked for the more skillful players but he's got a knack for scoring goals and is a very versatile midfielder. Could well see him comfortably make it to League One/Championship level or higher and wouldn't be surprised to see him develop in to a wing back.

I’m not sure why, but when I watch him play I think there’s some similarities with Burnley’s Dwight McNeil, obviously not at his level just yet but his style of play.

Edit: above comment regarding McAteer

...he has got, for me a very good player who could be playing elsewhere with a team much higher in the league!!!

If he sold him, who would he get to replace him in an unfashionable team. McNeil practically keeps them in the league, more self preservation than anything else I would say.

McNeil has about 3 goals and 4 assists to his name each season, he is not why they stay in the PL year on year. There are far more important players in that team.

Great news about Braybrooke signing a pro deal. With how Bayern, Dortmund, Leipzig and others have targeted young, English talent, an offer to go to Germany must've been very tempting.

This current crop of youngsters is seriously exciting. I wonder if we'll get to see a few in a cup game or two this season.

That Dyche clause is surprisingly common. The other trick some managers like to do is convince the youngsters to sign up with an agent mate of theirs. Garry Monk got well and truly called out when trying with a lot of Birmingham youngsters including Bellingham

Looks like Dennis Gyamfi is getting minutes playing for Zagreb II. I can’t find any info about Taveras playing for Porto II yet.

Tavares not made a single appearance

The moment Leicester City fans have been waiting patiently for nearly all year looks set to take place on Monday night.

Yes, James Justin is likely to be wearing a City shirt and playing for the club’s Under-23s. The full-back is on schedule to make a big step in his comeback from the ACL injury he suffered back in February as City’s development squad host Tottenham at Seagrave.

Justin was nearly included in the side that went to Barrow in the Papa John’s Trophy just before the international break, but the club will be better able to monitor the surface he will be playing on at Seagrave, and so can make sure conditions are right for his return.

Manager Brendan Rodgers has suggested Justin will be limited to 45 minutes to start with, so as not to push him too hard following a nine-month lay-off.

The game is one day shy of a full year since Ricardo Pereira made his comeback from an ACL tear in an Under-23 game. The Portuguese played an hour in what was his only outing before his first-team return against Zorya Luhansk, in which he picked up a new injury that put him back out for another six weeks or so.

Justin has had around a month more on the sidelines compared to Ricardo, suggesting the club have given him more time for rehabilitation, and therefore hoping to avoid any setbacks.

This one should be on LCFC TV as no PL game on at the same time to prevent coverage pal, unless our club are arseholes.
