That is very good news. He's been somewhat overshadowed by Tavares and Alves in the academy last season but this lad has a lot of ability.

I know I go over the top but there is a real nucleus of talented midfielders in the U18's and U23's.

Ewing, although not as 'flashy' as some of the others, is the one I like the look of

Regular captain for the under 18s and in one of his few games for the under 23s he stood up well against Billy Gilmour

Signing of Brad Young confirmed

https://www.hartlepoolunited.co.uk/brad-young-departs-for-leicester/

BRAD YOUNG DEPARTS FOR LEICESTER

The club can now confirm that Brad Young has joined Leicester City for an undisclosed fee

Brad joins the Premier League side after a successful trial period and will join the Foxes development side.

The young goalkeeper joined Hartlepool youth side at the age of 13 and has worked closely with former goalkeeping coach Ross Turnbull.

Brad has been subject to interest from a number of Premier League teams and his development has been recognised by the England national team as well.

Young received a call up to the England U19 squad back in March and received his first cap in a 6-1 victory.

Brad was able to gain vital first team experience over the course of the 2020/21 season as he joined Blyth Spartans on loan in the Vanarama National League North.

We spoke to Dave Challinor regarding Brad’s move:

Everyone at the club wishes Brad all the best with his move. As a young player with lots of potential, although Brad was on a long term contract with the club, this opportunity is one that suits everyone at this time and gives him personally a great chance to fulfil that potential at a Premier League club.

It’s been well documented that he has been out on trial at several clubs with a host of other clubs also showing interest but Leicester were the ones who came up with a deal that suited the club. Once that happened that was the place Brad wanted to be. It’s been a difficult couple of years for him in terms of games as the loans he had would have undoubtedly benefited him and got him closer to our first team but COVID, unfortunately, put pay to that.

What this has meant though is that he’s spent more time working with Ross, who has been brilliant with him, has had time away with England and has spent time in different environments at other clubs. These experiences will undoubtedly stand him in really good stead moving forward. We will all keep an eye on his progress and hope that he flourishes in his new surroundings.

Everyone at Hartlepool United wishes Brad all the best in his next steps.

Do you see any of them getting a look in during the cups this year (aside from Tavares and Suengchitthawon)?

Really hard to say, on the face of it it looks very difficult with Soumare signing and KDH hopefully involved next season. However, injuries soon change things as does the restrictions on how many non club trained players you can name in the Europa League squad.

I would hope that Wanya Marcal, Tavares (if he signs) and Suengchitthawon some of them get loan moves but Alves and Cover are the ones I think could quickly be fast tracked if they step up to U23's next season.

with covid restrictions going it will make it easier for that to happen as they won't need to swap bubbles to play

Where does marcal play? I wonder if it’s accurate he will be around the first team and inter grated

What do you mean? You don't rate him? I know a few down the club that think he's one of the most talented youngsters we've had in a while, can play anywhere which seems to back up why the U18's played him in some very odd positions for a player that was an attacking midfielder/ forward in earlier age groups.

Scored a fair few at the back end of the season and the clips on Instagram were of him taking on about 6 players in chipping keepers.

Turns out his brother Gio Loureiro may actually be heading to West Ham

Insider claims West Ham have taken banished Rangers goalkeeper and Leicester teen on trial

That’s according to an update from West Ham insider ExWHUemployee last night.

“We can exclusively reveal that there are two young players on trial at the club,” ExWHUemployee said on The West Ham Way patreon site.

“The first was covered on the podcast and that is Gio Loureiro a 15 year old attacking Portuguese midfielder from Leicester City.

I'm sure there are better reason than those why it makes sense. Irrespective finally, its great news, depending where he lands upstairs! Maybe he can "oversee" coaching, that's a pointless role lol

Am i missing something here???    What has happened and who are you referring to?
